With a last name like mine (Suys) there aren't too too many of us around
(...in Canada anyways;  but the lineage is long in Europe... )

My grand-father's branch was the only known descendant of the family to leave Europe
(he came to Canada after WWII to escape the atrocities of war),
and I actually have the quirky distinction of being the first born "Suys" outside of Europe.
..and any other "Suys" you'll likely meet are direct relatives of mine.

So Imagine my surprise when I stumbled on to my famous 6th-generation-removed cousin
born in BC a few years after me...

but I have to admit, I had heard of them before making this genealogical discovery.
