which is complete and fully working, but has a modified CP (...it's an original Robo underneath, but changed slightly ). I have a brand new CPO as well as NOS WICO red ball sticks. The screen has "un-noticeable" burn and works 100%
And I have another complete Robo U/R, but it's all apart. This one has a brand new CP/CPO, but it's unpopulated. I also have a complete (4 PCBs) working boardset and a monitor.
So I need to sell "something" ...
It's either the working game as-is, with or without the extra CP0 & parts ($500 as is, $600 with extra parts)
Or just the empty cab, with or without board set, and/or monitor.
Both cabs are quite nice (other than kick plate scuffs), no water damage, and solid. I also have all the extra pieces to make each of them really nice.
My dilema is whether I should fix one up and "hope" to sell it for more, or just sell the parts for easy money . (...and given the state of the vid market as witnessed by Sparky's virtual "give-aways" , I think I answered my own question. )
Basically, I need to clear out one cabinet space. Thanks, Steph
... You just answered your own question. Mind you, Robotron is still a sought-after vid, what I would do is get rid of the cabinet, but keep the parts. Monitors are always good to have. Robotron boardsets fetch a very nice amount on Ebay... plus you say you have a nice CPO on the one that is apart, and it could be used on the nice one that is working.
If SPACE is more important than MONEY for you (and I have seen your closet ... uhhh... gameroom ), then I would simply get rid of the cab, unless someone gives you a great offer.
Here are games I would like to acquire this year, or sometime...
24 Iron Man Attack From Mars Prefer Pounded playfield! Monster Bash Prefer Pounded Playfield! Elvis Sopranos Batman Forever Spider-Man Stern Prefer Pounded Playfield!
Have these available for trade or possible sale: Corvette South Park Theatre of Magic Twilight Zone RFM/SW:EP1 Nucore Combo AFM
Sorry, I'm keeping that one for my elusive "Williams Rarities" collection.
Yeah, so down the road when some higher intelligence takes some renewed interest in these things, and is able to appreciate retro 80's video games; they will clone Steph to show them how to play them.
I learned that is was easier to answer questions like "Why did you BUY an 8th game.." than trying to convince her to buy it
Trust me, it is MUCH easier... also if she really doesnt want you to keep it, you can always PUT IT FOR SALE ! Selling a game can take a while and you can get bored of it meanwhile... as long as a game is for sale my wife is usually happy.
I'm sure there are more tricks but those seems to work fine for me
