Life is like Pinball!! You never know where you will bounce or where your going but sometimes you have that one amazing shot But on the other hand you have those darn gutter ball where you just get frustrated.
I think we have to consider the years and compare with pins in the same era. Take a chance with the onle comes to my brain instantly: Williams Police Force
Pins Bally: Xenon - Centaur - Fathom(Project) - Embryon(Project) Williams: Black Knight(Huo) - Firepower(Project) Gottlieb: Black Hole - Haunted House Stern: Flight 2000(Project) - Freefall(Project) - Big Game(Project) - Seawitch(Project) - Lightning(project) - Quicksilver(Project) WTB: Catacomb (In any condition) View pics here:http://www.pinballowners.com/hal-9ooo (please vote !!! )
Firepower 2 I found really bad, especially considering its predecessor.Sopranos and Austin Powers get my vote as the worst Sterns, ESPECIALLY AP..what a piece of junk.
I've noticed people on some forums say: "Anything made by Data East" or others that say "Anything made by SEGA" ...I don't have enough experience with those brands to say that though

You are on serious crack.
I know that these are just your opinion, but seriously, have you ever *played* Star Wars Trilogy, Bugs Bunny's BB, World Poker Tour, Fish Tales and Mousin' Around? I can think of waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay worse games than those. They might not be great but they hardly deserve the "worst" designation.
Jeeze FT and T3. That's kind of harsh. Other than some "shoot here" stuff going on that is mildly annoying, I can't put those games in the bottom. In fact FT I really enjoy.
Usually what people put down as bad pins on a list are the ones that commands a high price but don't deliver what people expect. Take away $ part of the equation and then it's just the pin itself.
I love the guys that say MM sucks. Well at $6700, if your not game to pay, it sounds like sour grapes. I bet at $1400 MM would be an awesome title to those same morons.
Most of the bad pins are cheap stuff I walk away from because it's boring FT and T3 are not what I would consider completely boring.
For me it would have to be a really slow playing and unattractive EM that would fall on the bottom of the list. Pretty well anything WPC or modern Stern is worth a playing... yes even Popeye and AP. I wouldn't own them, but if I paid my money to play it I would stick with the game.
Yea same thing with worst stern Sopranos and AP?? You have dogs like High Roller Casino, Striker Xtreme and Sharky's Shootout and you pick Austin Power which has at least decent theme intergration good humor if you like the movies and some really good voice calls. Or Sopranos which is actually not that bad a game, I mean come on.
finally, some sorta love for popeye, i don't know if i actually hate any machines, as i am just super happy to be able to still have some around and be able to play them, i feel lucky to be able to play any pinball machine, mind you i like the more sys 11 machines and dmd's but i've been known to throw some money into some EM's before.

That's a tough one. You have qualified the time line to the last 20 years -- 1988 and up so that's Sys 11 and newer. I haven't played all the Segas and Gottliebs, so I cann't honestly say which I feel are the worst given the time period. I have read most Segas are rather dull, but have only played one and it wasn't bad (Starship Troopers).
Might be easier to say worst Williams/Bally DMD, Sys. 11, Gottlieb, Sega, etc.
From what I have played, though, I can honestly say Cue Ball Wizard is the worst game in the last 20 years. It's hard to imagine a worse game. I mean it sucks sooooo bad. Terrible, terrible game. No flow, terrible animation, crap music, agh!

HR Casino I owned and kind of liked...but then I am a gambler. AP I've played a few times, and I'm sorry, but its just plain AWFUL..no flow..cheezy ...empty PF...it is the worst for me anyway. Sopranos was just mildly OK...I do agree with Striker Xtreme and Sharkys..those are bad games too without a doubt. Obviously everyone has different opinions...I also don't really like TZ and can't figure out what all the fuss is about it..its just OK to me. But I love BSD, and many hate it. If everyone had the same opinion the world would be an extremely boring place!

Stern Electronic from the 80's became Data east ... then Sega bought them ... then Stern Pinball Inc Bought the pinball Division of Sega, completing a full circle...

This question is totally based on personal preference. I have no older (before 1990) pins in my collection because I generally find them boring and they lose my interest very quickly. Does this mean they are bad? NO, that is my preference, many of you here seem to love them. I shopped out a Baywatch for an operator and other than the annoyiing background music, I found that it was decent playing pin. I have owned Hurricane, HRC and SX and they were OK playing pins, the fact that I sold them only means that I found other pins I like more. Junkyard on the other hand I absolutely hated, everything (music, sounds, gameplay) about it annoyed me, it was like finger nails on chalkboard. As I said it all come down to personal preference.
It has been scientifically proven that light is faster than sound. That is why some people seem brilliant........until they open their mouth!

Good point! But, people easily say what are the best games of all time (ie, TZ, CV, MM, CC, STTNG etc)...which is personal opinion too (i.e. some love CV, some think it is total crap)....However, they certainly evoke strong opinions either way. I guess the truly bad games are the mediocre ones.....So, new question: Whats the most mediocre (post 1985) game ever made?
Whats the most mediocre (post 1985) game ever made?
A lot of Gtb games from that era are really bad (a few were ok though). Especially the ones where they couldn't afford licensing so they would copy a theme/movie but change it just enough to not pay a license, use bad voice imitations, crappy music, etc. The gameplay is usually not great on those either.
I keep thinking of the REALLY bad Clint Eastwood imitation in Cue Ball Wizard..
Mind you his real voice in Dirty Harry (Wms) sucks just as bad..

Breakshot by Capcom would be on my list. It was only just recently I played one at a local truck stop. When I looked at it i thought it was prob not that good, but i tried it anyway because its a pinball so i had to. Only took one ball for me to see that i had wasted good money.
I'm the opposite of H5P5. I prefer pre-1985 games because I find most of the newer ones more of a "novelty" than anything else. Most of the great innovation that occurred during the SS era took place in the first 10 years. Newer games have this "been there, done that, same old, same old" feel to me...except with better sound effects and a playfield toy to bash on. Like most things, it's all been done and the last 20 years has just been rehashing old ideas.
In my opinion, the worst games from the last 20 years are virtually anything from Gottlieb. I'm a huge fan of Gottlieb pins but after the early 80's, their product became painfully awful. Bad themes, bad artwork and mediocre gameplay. Stargate is the only exception I can think of.

Yeah......NBA FB......whats the point?!?! I really like Gomez games too...but that game, I find, really missed the mark of a pinball game.....
I haven't played it much, but the idea of being the Champion and having your Initials 30 times in 1 game is amusing!! hehehe. I like the Pass around the saucers and the ramps that circle around to the basket are cool. It would be nice if the players weren't all retired! This game begs for a software update!! And from what I have seen you need to set this game up to be as hard as possible.
Gold Wings is a Terrible game (Is that to old?) and I found Jokerz to be the same way, just... Why?

Here are games I would like to acquire this year, or sometime...

Worst pinball games?... Huh, there are bad pins? These words you use make no sense to me. The only pins I dislike are the ones that I can't afford. You can review the current MAACA classifieds for my latest list.

Another Inane post brought to you by the good people of ACME Corp... Purveyors of the all-purpose Thread Killer.
I have to make the distinction between what I don't like and what is overall bad... not easy.
Pretty much all brands of pins have their share of turkeys... If I stick to post-1985, here is my list:
Gottlieb/Premier: Gold Wings... all while Genesis and Spring Break have worse art, the gameplay on Genesis is quite decent and acceptable on Spring Break... Gold Wings is just too segmented...
Bally: Party Animal. While Hard Body is just as ugly (they were ugly in the 80s... ) the sound on Party Animal makes your ears bleed. Just overall bad. To put this in perspective, williams released F-14 just before and Space Station just after. I would even say that this pin was even worse than what Gottlieb was releasing.
Williams: I still say Star Wars Episode 1... I have said it before... feels like you are playing a movie commercial. The ball is always stopped to watch a movie segment, it is really annoying. If you are going to have a limited number of shots (like just the damn center...) at least make it animated and entertaining like Revenge from Mars...
Recent Stern: Roller Coaster tycoon. Officially the only pin I ever walked away from. Just plain bad.
Sega: I did play a couple of them... not enough to judge thoroughly, but I do find South Park to be bad overall.
Data East: Playboy 35th anniversary... they just didn't seem to invest in the pin, and too much on the license.
Capcom: I can't say that they are BAD... just different. Yeah, Breakshot isn't all that great, but they just tried to revive an old-school feel to pinball. Flipper Football? Sucks the big one when playing alone, but when I played it at Frosken's place with a beer at hand and a competition going, I found it rather addictive.
I could add a Zaccaria, Game Plan and Playmatic to name a few, but they were quite minor in the pin-field...
