Well got my Fathom pretty much up and running.  Only thing is I cant get it to kick out a ball to start a game.  Kicker works in solenoid test.  If I manually put a ball in play pretty much everything else works.  Any suggestions.  I guess I should take the apron off  to check if there are any issues there.  I guess it is time to order CPR plastic set.

Did you check all the switch and micro-switch related to the balls ?

Checked all switches and solenoids and they worked (well a couple switches needed adjusting) so that is why I am posting.

So if you start a game and depress the back kicker switch with your finger, the ball kicker activates ?  If so, then obviously just a switch adjustment is needed.  If not, then it's time to work back up the line to see why the switch is not activating the coil.

No cant get kicker to activate in game play mode.  Kicker activates in test mode and all switches seem to work in switch test mode when activated manually.

Make sure that the switches under the ball through are all properly activated and detected
with the balls present in the through.

Also check the wiring of those switches all the way to the MPU.

Perhaps this is a silly question, and Sylvain already alluded to it, but here goes anyway.

Do you have all 3 balls in the game ?  I forget exactly what the machine does, but I know it won't reset properly if any of the balls are missing.  

If that's not it, and the kicker switch is the only one not working, it's gotta be a bad wire or bad connection ( pin ).

Have you confirmed that all of the ball through switches are actually properly detected
by the MPU when the balls are in the through (as opposed to activate switches by hand)?

I assume that the MPU has the correct EPROMs for the Fathom game, correct?

That was it.  Had to bend switch 1 in the ball trough a bit so that it "saw" the ball instead of just manually checking switches the
way I did.

Next problem is the coin up switches are not working.  No biggie as I planned on free play.  No free play on Bally, so I set the 1st replay
at 10,000, 2nd at 900K and 3rd at 1,800K.  Right now I am using the 5 service credits to test/play.  Anyways at 10,000 no free game.
What gives?

Your dip switches are probably not set to award a free game at the replay levels. Check your manual for more info on the dips.
