I believe at least one and maybe two of the TOPL crew picked one up.

Yes, he bought a WOF and a SPP.

Starburst has an inventory of them. I am sure you could negotiate the same deal.

Fun game but the sound although appropriate is a little hard to deal with in a collection IMHO.

I think you could probably get the same deal in the future on the WOF, if you were seriously considering buying one, you could try and make them honour that same price ( show special OR not ).

Talked to them today. The deal still stands with the right amount of persuasion and politeness   And no, haven't officially pulled the trigger yet

ME

Of the guys that played it, what do you think of the gameplay etc? I'm tempted but..........

Was there a "show special" on TSPP as well?
What did they do with the games they used for the tournament?

The game plays well with a number of fairly unique shots .. as well as the double sloted post inbetween the flippers and the Free Spin outlanes. The Wheel itself is raelly nice looking. The only real downside is the theme

I am on the fence on this one WOF seems like a basic layout on the PF and has a incomplete software, on the other hand you have a good price for a NIB pin is it all worth it??

It is never worth it when you dont like a game... if you dont like it at 4k, you wont like it at 3k...

I like the game, it plays different from a lot of other games you have to bump and nuge a lot, it's a pin guys type of game but might have a short life in the heard it all depends on the rules and how deep they go and by playing a few games a Starburst it's hard to tell

I played it in A-Town and I didn't think it was 'that bad'...not my favorite theme, but it's not a 'striker extreme / rollercoaster tycoon / playboy' game either.

Then again, if I had 3K I don't know if I would pick it up...Family Guy or TSPP maybe (LOTR = OF COURSE!)..but it's a tough decision...

I hope there will be one in chi-town on Friday so I can give you a better prognosis

i found a enjoyable game.  with some neat added features i haven't seen on a pin for alwhile.  would turn off the free spin and cut the extra balls down to one at the max.  i had it really rocking with over 300million.

there was a ok line up for sale.  was nice to play alot before buying.

went and spent some time on family guy.  i did play it once when it first came out.
but something seemed to da-ja-vu-ish....  didn't i just play this game?  like minutes ago?  weird feeling.  i say it outloud and i think glen was beside me.  points out i just played shriek and its the exact same pf.... go fcck yourself it is..  damn me.  well that just killed it for me.  not a fan now at all.   rather have a WOF even if it was the same price.  but at the sale price erin is even saying hmmm.......

Perhaps you aren't aware, Family Guy came out first then they put out Shrek afterwards.  There was no secret they were using the same playfield, it is a lazy thing to do but at least they were open about it (and I guess they like the playfield layout?!?).

I think at your stage in collecting your probably looking for something that's different and WOF to me seemed to be different enough to be interesting. It is an easy game to keep the ball in play but seems to be challenging to complete.

We saw more than 15 WPT as well back in the auction area (I didn't notice the WoF boxes but I didn't get everywhere in the warehouse)

The reason I think the game is great is this:

1) Very interesting layout, this isn't your standard pinball.  Nice big center drain but with posts to keep the ball in play.  It's a learning curve because you think you want to flip to try and save it but really your best bet is to keep your flippers down and let it bounce.  The outlanes are pretty gobbly but the doouble outlane with free spin is a really cool feature, trying to nudge it one way or the other to get that free spin to keep it in play.  This game is really a nudgers dream.

2)  Interesting scoring system - so the main purpose of the game is to solve puzzles, easy enough, but you have the 3 contestents, who each get diffrent values on the wheel each time it spins.  So obviously you want to go with the contestent with the higest point value at the time, the cool thing is those point accumulate.  So while Lonny may have had 80,000 the last spin but only has 20,000 this spin while maria has 90,000.  You are still better off shooting for lonny because it will add to your total score and you will now gety 1 mil as his new total.  Also the  last player you hit that calls out a leter is the player score you get when you solve the puzzle, so there is some strategy in which player you should hit and when.

3)  Toys - this game has some cool toys.  First time in a really long time I've seen a skill shot that really requires some decent skill.  The loop back shot to the right flipper that needs a left ramp shot to complete is great.  Then you have the wheel, really nice toy, it lights up really nice and the spinning feature is pretty cool, the bobble heads arn't terrible, the in line drop targets arn't a feature you've seen on a game in a long time and are fun to try and knock down.

4) Rules - the rules are interesting, lots of diffrent multiballs, all the diffrent puzzles, some strategy involved and allot of fun shots while doing it.

that is my take on the game anyway.

I've played it a Jim's - I really liked it, different, in the way I suspect WOF is.  And if you like that style of poker, bonus!
