Because of the rarity of the machine and because of its superb condition an American offered me $1900 US for my Jackbot and I didn't take it. This is I suppose a fair price, but I am more interested in trading up with this machine (+cash=?), because of its condition.
The 2004 Mr. Pinball List and Price Guide values it at $1325 US which I believe is a conservative estimate (sorry I don't have an up to date price guide). If you can pick this game up for $1500 C or less than you're doing well!
You should have jumped on the opportunity.. That guy must have been on crack.. Jackbots aren't very collectible or valuable as far as WPC games go...
It's all about finding a buyer who REALLY wants one...

Maybe I should have but when you have a game that's like brand new it has great trade potential.
Besides this is an underated game. I love the music, Casino Run, artwork it also has 3-ball multiball and neat cheat modes. It is right in sinc with the time being a gambling theme. The cabinet art is great and I could go on....
I've had two Pinbots in the past and sold them both although I enjoyed them, but they don't compare to Jackbot. This game is the best in the series. It's a fun and exciting game to play.
Don't forget... the fact that you find the guide's estimate conservative and that the game is underrated is YOUR opinion. Those price guides are created using TONS of information, like what the machine goes for on the general market, general ratings of the machine given by thousands of people, etc...
But for Jackbot, people seem to have the same opinion... it is simply a rehash of Pinbot with a slight theme change. You would think that it's popularity would have soared considering the popularity of Pinbot, but people didn't see it that way. I believe that this is what lowered it's value.
Now, this is a debate that comes up very often... the value of pins indicated in price guides... but consider this: if a person offers you 50% OVER the value indicated in the price guide for a pin in equal condition, and most of the same pins go for much less than the offer that you received, you should go for it. I would recontact your buyer.

Nicely said, Sparky! Very valid points and good suggestion . Personally I really like Jackbot (more than Pinbot for sure), but I don't think it is a $2K USD game. And I don't think there are many folks willing to pay that kind of premium (unless HOU or NIB).
It's a game I would consider if it was under 1500CAD...
1900USD? Take the money AND RUN!!!!

Easy guys...I might be a newbie to this organization but I'm certainly not a newbie to collecting pinballs. I realize that I may have missed out on a decent opportunity in selling my Jackbot but then again that wasn't my original intention. I advertised this machine to trade, but when I was contacted by phone to sell the machine I definitely gave it a lot of consideration. Even though you may think I missed the boat there's going to be another one along in ten minutes (Well maybe). What I mean to say is that if I do sell/trade this machine I'll let you know how I made out. PRACTICALLY HUO
If you saw my game room (pins in particular) you'd realize that I am a pretty resourceful individual. Although I prefer the newer dot matrix pins I can still appreciate the electromechanicals. Yeah right I'm a pinhead!
I agree full with Frosken (I can't believe I just said that). I find Jackbot is by modern DMD standards, a boring machine. Not to knock it down but I just didn't see them building on the potential this machine could have had. What worked in 86 with the original Pinbot just didn't cut it in 95. In fact the lack of tech in the older 86 in my humble opinion gives this machine a better showing with it's tinny voice and effects. The side art on J*Bot fades at the flash of a camera. If it hasn't gone on yours yet then I would say now would be a good time to let it go.
Having said that, people have differing tastes in machines. I mean look at me, I've got a Dr.Dude and I really like it. Some would question that decision. But that's the great part of building your own personal collection. It is personal choices mixed with opportunities for machines that arise.
I would take the money and run. Besides if you get cold hard cash it is easier to add money to it and buy a machine then hoping someone really wants yours in trade.
