Imperial Arcade, that's the little one that wasn't too far from Laurier, right Ethous? I think that's the one I was referring to above.
Yeah, correction on above, the Rideau Arcade on Dalhousie was I think "the games room". My bad .
Life is like Pinball!! You never know where you will bounce or where your going but sometimes you have that one amazing shot But on the other hand you have those darn gutter ball where you just get frustrated.
Actually it was next to Barrymore's. I got kicked out for being underage when The Spoons came to perform. But when Rational Youth came, my fake ID saved the day!! Got to see them three nights in a row: Barrymore's, Ottawa U, and Carleton.
The arcade next door had big windows that let too much sun inside. But I loved to play Championship Sprint there, on a good day when lots of people came through I could play a long time without putting in any quarters. As long as one of the humans lose to the computer car, the winner could keep playing free.
Playable Now: Centaur II, Doctor Who, High Speed. Playable Soon: Breakshot, Sorcerer Later: Flash, Genie, Seawitch Fondly remembered: Firepower
can't remember the name of the little arcade on bank street, but someone around here mentioned it recently
That one was near the corner of Bank and Slater, Steph said it was called Wizards. Nice and dark, with a good selection of machines. I remember standup Battlezone, Black Knight pinball, Robotron, Millipede...

The main one I went to was at the Hillcrest mall in richmond hill, it was called "Wizards Castle".
I vividly remember "Wizards Castle" as well.... (It may have been called something else before that, going back to the early 80's, with that nasty 70's orange/red colour scheme!)
The only others that I frequented were Amusement Palace in Newmarket at the corner of Yonge & Davis. The local 'Canadiana' roller-rink was a weekly hangout and they always had a small assortment, and can remember getting to play tons of pinball, Joust, Asteroids, Spy Hunter and Defender there for the first time. Back in the day all the Cuck-E-Cheese locations had kick a** video game lineups. Vivid memories of dumoping a LOT of quarters into TRON and Crystal Castles. And who could forget the main arcade @ Canada's Wonderland? That one brings back memories of Punchout (and Super), 720, Paperboy, Afterburner sitdown and the list goes on and on and on.......

I remember there was fairly big arcade in Promenades de l'Outaouais, right next to the cinema in Gatineau (I know that Henry has machines there now, but that arcade had tons of machines!)
Other notable: Place du Centre in Hull (had to be over 18 to go in, thus I couldn't go.)
I remember the Bank street arcades: especially Imperial and the Games Room....used to play OutRun and Track&Field alot when my brother brought me with him (which didn't happen often!)
During my college years, my usual pitstop was Midway in Ottawa and played the crap out of CFTBL...and wasn't interested at all in TAF sitting next to it...

There was The Wizard on Carling Ave, across from the Britannia 6 theatre (now the Coliseum). I had a birthday party there when I was a young one, I remember playing Star Wars, T2 pinball, and Altered Beast, but not much else.
