So I have a good understanding of the JAMMA system, I have built a few rigs.  I have however never wired up the monitor power.

As far as I understand it the monitor is plugged into the isolation transformer and the I.T. is plugged into the Power Supply (correct?)

can a PC power supply be used to supply power to the isolation transformer? or is "wall power" needed.

When I get serious about doing this.. I can post monitor model numbers and pics ect.. Right now I am just getting all my "ducks in a row" in my head here to  see if I have everything needed to convert a old Sega cocktail cabinet into a JAMMA rig for some boards I have around here.

P.S. I do understand that monitors are dangerous and never to touch the suction cup area (anode?) on the back side.

Bob Roberts has a pretty good writeup on how to wire a cab...

You will need wall power for the transformer.

Note: substitute your pc power supply for the Switching Power Supply in Bob's example.

Keep in mind that not all I.T. are the same..  Some bring the voltage down a bit..  They are not necessarily interchagneable..  I had one that had an output of 100V (down from 120 in)...  I used it to power a different monitor and it took my a month to figure out why it was soooooo dim..

I also used the 100V monitor and powered it by a 120V I.T.  Blew quite a few components...

Just ensure that the I.T. is outputint the required voltage for that specific monitor..  OF course, if it's the original I.T. for that monitor then ignore all above!!
