I wiped my computer clean and reinstalled XP, and now I can't log in directly to MAACA.  I can only log in by clicking on 'see this message' in my hotmail account where I get notification when someone's PMed me.

ANyone know what the problem is?
Daniel

I've had problems on the first login screen - not sure why.  But when it says "login failed" - and you get the second screen, then I can login with out problems.   Not sure why, I use firefox - but thought it was too long a password for the 1st screen?

I figured it out.  My cookies setting was on 'medium,' switched it to 'low' and I can log in no problems.  Damn cookies!

This is an ongoing problem. It doesn't matter where I go and log on to a system if you go to the maaca.org or maaca.net homepage and try to login it doesn't work.

I end up googling "maaca pinball" to get a link to some online home thread and going in that way. The s107351202.onlinehome.us etc. etc. will never be something someone will remember.

The onlinehome.us address is merely the server name for our page.

Understood, but it still does not resolve the problem. It would appear that as long as the cookies have the information to login to the onlinehome then you get in. If you don't have the cookies from a previous visit where you worked through to get logged into onlinehome the data entered into the maaca homepage does not get forwarded to the onlinehome to log you in. Basically the homepage login does not work.

Thing is  I have set it up so it up so the online goes away and maaca.org stays but the login issue was worse than ever. Hence we returned to the online format.
If you are having issues with login in its one of 2 things.

Your security is too high or your cookies need to be cleaned of all things maaca.
Or maybe both for that matter.

At first if you have an issue logging in please erase all maaca related cookies, history and cache including the s107351202.onlinehome.us ones.
then try again please.

I log in on computers all over the country. None of them work when you go to maaca.org or maaca.net unless your cookies are previously set up.

If the vast majority of computers around don't work it's irrelevant what your settings need to be. When it comes to the internet there is one thing that webmasters work for and that is universality of operation. No sense in designing something that won't work on the vast majority of systems out there.

Last message was deleted. If you have not read it I am sorry, However, for those of you who have there is something even safer that can be done.

That is a mysql based forum but it is currently only in BETA  which means it may  have bugs.

If you all are willing to work through some bugs in order to have a safer site then let me know.
