I was wondering if anyone had tips or suggestions for repairing Bally Pop Bumpers. I recently replaced one of the Bumper Skirts because it was broken. It was the first time I had done anything to this extent with my machine and soon realized that you had to remove the soder from the metal strips on the under side of the playfield and remove the staples before you can remove the bumper and replace the skirt.

All went well, and I was able to replace the skirt, however now I just cannot get the bumper 'tight' so it does not move. it wiggles no matter how hard I try to pull the metal straps tight. Is there a trick to doing this procedure? Do I need special tools or something?

The metal strips are the leads for the lamp and I don't think they hold the Pop Bumper body down at all. There should be 2 scres that go down through the body into the playfield to hold the pop bumper solid. It has been a while since I did one of those, but I think that is right.
