I'm just curious..does repainting a pinball cabinet lessen the value of the pin as long as you match the paint exactly?

depends on 3 things.

- how does it look now
- how does it look when you're done
- who the buyer is

I think that is the most important part.  Some people prefer original, even if it looks like crap.  Others will pay extra for things that look shiny and new.

Hey, I resemble that comment.

I am one of the most, ahem, anal people you will ever meet.
For me the value is not lessend as long as your painting is done with the correct type of paints and the job quality is at least as good as the original. But that's just me.

My thoughts:
1) If your painting to increase resale value, then only do it if the existing paint is completely trashed. (And take the pictures to prove it.)
2) If you plan on keeping the pin forever then do what makes you happy and to heck with everyone else. That's right I said 'to heck with them'
3) I really like Vanilla.

It has some good tips.
