Hey guys, sorry to impose upon your extensive and frankly humbling pinball knowledge so soon, but I need some help. One of my Monster Bash switches, namely #87 the Frank Hit switch must've come loose during play and popped up on the test screen upon boot up. No problem there, carefully soldered the lose wire back on and I was back in business. What happened shortly thereafter threw me for a loop though - The RIGHT RETURN, switch 27 (I believe) is acting funny now. Gave the game a play test to make sure Frankenstein was good to go (and sure enough he was), but whenever the ball now crossed over the right retrun switch the damn TILT warning would come on until the game would eventually TILT out. Disconnected the connection to the Right Return switch and sure enough no TILT (no Phantom Flip or tune trigger either). So this also rules out an issue with the tilt mechanism itself obviously. This hiccup doesn't show up on test reports either, so I'm lost.

Any suggestions? Thought that maybe the contact was dirty so gave it a quick wipe - no change - still Tilts.
I do have the schematics, so perhaps the answer is there. Have yet to trace the supply source as of yet.
I do not believe that the Frank Hit repair caused a short in the right outlane but I suppose anything is possible, so I thought I'd mention it.

Check the Diode on that switch you fixed, make sure it is connected and good. If not check the diodes on all the switches in the row and column that include the tilt. I dint have the matrix in front of me, but I would guess the one you fixed first, then the one that causes the tilt, then any others.

Sounds very similar to the switch problem described in a recent Pinball Ninja:

http://www.pinballninja.com/?p=1930

Caused by a switch being reconnected improperly.

Suggestion: go into switch test mode and activate each switch by hand. Pay particular attention to what happens with other switches in the same row/column you're having trouble with.

Ever had one of those ultimate moments of clarity when you realize that you truly are your own worst enemy?

You were right, when I fixed Frankenstein I must have reconnected improperly, as soon as I undid what I did, the tilt no longer trips on the return lane. That brings me back to the Frank Hit Switch, but I can handle that as soon as I figure out where to solder the damn wire. I'm such a noob, I'm so sorry guys (and gals?).

Loved Pinball all of my life, over the past 2 years took the jump to owning some, so I'm what you might call a virgin with experience, lol.

From Pinrepair.com

http://www.pinrepair.com/wpc/index2.htm#switch

Notice the orientation of the diode's band on these switches.
On a micro-switch, the column (green) wire usually goes to
the center lug, the row (white) wire and the non-banded side of the
diode to the lug closest to the center. The band on the
diode goes to the solo, far third switch lug. The leaf switch
uses the same connection method (green to center, banded end
of diode solo). Note there are some exceptions to this mounting.
