Well... we're 4 days away from the show ! ( yeh ! )
And I'm just wondering what people are planning to do on Friday and/or Saturday night.
I'm only there Friday night, so I can't speak for what to do on Saturday, but for those who'll be there Friday night, is anyone planning anything after the show [7:00pm] ? MAACA Group Supper ? Other ?
I'm all for meeting some new faces too. There's a sports bar not too far from the Agriplex where we could go after 9pm. What about the Pinball Parlor? What's happening with that?

Seb and I will be there Friday to Sunday am. We'll make sure to wear MAACA shirts so look for a mom and 9 yr old son in black . Hopefully we can team up with whoevers there for a Sat supper as unfortunately supper or sports bar after 9 on Friday doesn't work with a nine yr old .
Say 'yes' to classic Sterns. Complete MAACA-Wacko!

Go to the Pinball Parlour. You won't be disappointed. It was one of the highlights for me last year (along with Scott's place: Necro and MrHide in the same place at the same time. I thought the universe was going to implode.)

What I wanted to know is if it's closed off for MAACA's private use like it was last year?

As far as I know, there are no official 'private' MAACA meeting being held there this year. If like the previous years, there might be children parties on-going during the day/evening, but these tend to finish at around 9PM or 10 PM (depending on their age). I went there in the last two years during the evening, and indeed it was great. I will try to go there again this year, if time permits. I think the place is about 40 min south of Allentown or so.
Incidentally I discussed earlier with the owner of the Pinball Parlour (Paul), and he indicated that they CANNOT have ANY alcohol on-site due to licencing/law reasons, plus they do NOT want ANY craziness, late parties, or intoxicated people on-site, by fear of accident, or potential trouble with the law.
(I understand, he has some nice machines in there).
Cheers, - Sylvain.
Looking for 1966 Bally Capersville, 1967 Bally The Wiggler, 1981 Stern Viper, 1986 Pinstar Gamatron, 1986 Williams Grand Lizard, 1991 Williams Bride of Pinbot, and a few others. Cash or some trades available. Could also repair a machine of yours +/-$ if needed, in exchange for one machine on my want list, non-working/unshopped welcome!
I just sent an email to Paul (the owner) to ask if Saturday visit by MAACA members would be OK. Again, no party nor any alcohol or drugs are allowed there (I do not want him or anyone here to get in trouble with the law, pretty stiff penalties in Pa!).
I think it was $6 or $10 per person to play for a few hours in the evening if I recall. Will post his reply as soon as I get it.
Cheers, - Sylvain.

We are all welcome at the Pinball Parlour on Saturday evening! Here's Paul's (the owner) message:
"It's fine. We appreciate your consideration with the partying. This is a family entertainment center, and we get plenty of them, so we like to keep things respectable. Of course there is no alcohol allowed in the Pinball Parlour".
Excellent news ! Hope to see a few MAACA members over there on Sat. evening.
Cheers, - Sylvain.

Gee Sylvain.. Do youthink we can drink beer at the parlour??
WTF.. We understood you the FIRST time..
Oh and BTW.. What makes you think there were drugs there before?? EVER??
I'm starting to get annoyed with your not-so-subtle insinuations.

I never insinuated anything, and sorry you took it the wrong way.
I do not want to be held responsible for any possible issues there, simply since I have been in communication with Paul. The 'no alcohol' are his words.
For sure, your post is certainly uncalled for, and most disappointing. We are adults, no ?
Let's enjoy Allentown and the Parlour instead of this type of post.

You have 3 posts in this thread. 3 times you repeat that there is NO ALCOHOL. We got you the first time.
Why in the world would YOU be held responsible for ANYTHING that happens at the parlour?!?!?
Yes we ARE adults My point exactly...
And yes.. I'm having a rough week and have a short fuse right now. Happens to the best of us.. Well ok maybe not you but to most of us at some point..

Hi Sylvain
What price did Paul quote you per person and from what exact time to time?
Thanks

I asked him about our visit 'during the Sat. evening after the Allentown show'. I was not specific with hours, but I assume that this was understood to mean sometimes after 7:00 PM. People usually have dinner first, so most MAACA people arrive after 8:00PM I would think.
From their web site, they are usually opened until 10PM, but, if like the previous years where MAACA people were there, it would not surprize me if they stay opened until 11:00PM or even midnight, who knows...
For price, I did not ask. I assume it will be the same price as last year. $6 or $10 per person for a few hours is a great deal in my opinion.
Unfortunately I do not have any time to follow-up with the exact price and hours, sorry, working too many hours at the office, and no spare time now... Hopefully what I provided is enough for now, and can get confirmation with Paul on that evening.
Hope to see you there on Saturday evening !
Cheers, - Sylvain.
