i picked up winner (em) a few months back for a $200. the bg is fantastic and the acrylic playfield (painted from below) is dam near flawless. 5 of the pin's on the backbox connect were broken and hardwired (wired wrong i might add)
i've been working through the repairs slowly (haven't spent much time on it)
heres where i'm at.
the machine powers up, cycles and starts play. the shooter engages (and fires when ya press the button) however none of the playfield engages (no flippers/bumpers/horse movement/score)
i've glanced over the machine a few times, but nothings really jumped out at me (as far as broken pieces/bent/broken contacts)
where do ya think i should start looking for the problem? unfortunatly i dont have the schematic's. any help would be greatly appreciated. thx in advance.
Next step: verify that all of the connectors (playfield to cabinet mech board, and cabinet to head) are all properly and fully inserted in their proper connector, plus not offset...
Cheers, - Sylvain.

Cash or some trades available. Could also repair a machine of yours +/-$ if needed, in exchange for one machine on my want list, non-working/unshopped welcome!
If the above checks reveal nothing unusual, then you will need to verify the contacts on the relays and interlocks that typically interrupt the solenoid voltage to part of the circuit: - tilt - game over - reset complete
Update: Also check all tilt devices (ball incline, bob) to make sure they are not ON.
Let us know what you find...
- Sylvain.

All of which is a lot easier to accomplish if you have the schematics to follow because those will show the proper reset position for each switch. What a great example of a twist on the usual Pitch and Bat, lucky you!

fuses, check-replaced to be sure (4 in the cab one in the back glass, none on the playfield. connectors, check-cleaned with a brass brush -paid close attention when reconnecting-good connections, proper placement.
located instruction manual/scehmatic's
checked above mentioned relays. no visible signs of tweeking/arching etc. all contacts on set relays function and gapped properly. (varified with instruction manual diagrams)
what next?
i can't wait to actually play this beast.
traffic lights, like most of the things in my arcade, i found them locally through kijiji. the guys got 50 or so in his back yard. there very light weight temporary lights (for construction) most have a broken clip or some other small defect.
the guys got em pinned to everything (garage, shed poles etc) and very visible. i picked up a crosswalk and traffic light for $65, but i've seen him list them from $25-$100 each

Logic would say that you are close and that it is one of the following:
Problem with connector to playfield (sometimes these are put in backwards by mistake), Whatever switch is next in the start play relay sequence is not properly triggered, A switch on the scoring motor isn't being completed (a wild guess there).
I would start the game and get it to the point where the ball is thrown, then trace back from a flipper coil (after testing that it works if you short circuit it) with a multimeter, until you get to the switch that is preventing it from working - that switch may be the only problem.
I just pulled out the specific schematics for this game.
The only relays involved in supplying the solenoid voltage to the PF (incl. horse advance motor and flippers) are, in order, from the supply at the left of the schematics to the right, via their *normally closed* (NC) contacts:
- Start Relay - Game Over Relay - Shooter Motor Relay - Tilt Relay.
One or more of these have either a dirty, or misadjusted normally closed contact, preventing the 24V solenoid voltage to reach the playfield.
Apart from the solenoid fuse (which also supplies the score motor that works), there is nothing else in the circuit that would kill your power as the problem description. ...unless a daisy-chain power solenoid wire is off a lug of a coil somewhere in the machine: check the black wires to the start relay NC contact, then red/yellow/while wires ending on the NC contact leaving the game over relay, then the gray wire leaving the shooter motor NC contact feeding the tilt NC contact, leaving on a red wire. Those colors are as per the schematics.
Good luck ! - Sylvain.
