I've put some ramps in the dishwasher, just make sure the heated dry is turned off, and if possible the water isn't too hot. Worked great for me. I used it for some ramps/sub ramps on my Dr Who that I sold, they came out clear and sparkly

I've done boards in the dishwasher, I do them by hand now. I was finding that I was spending more time cleaning off residue from running the boards through the dishwasher than I would have spent cleaning them by hand in the first place. I can do a better job by hand as well. But I will try the ramps in the dishwasher if/when I ever get around to restoring my ToM.

I've put a harness in the dishwasher and I will never do it again. It hardly cleaned anything off it, and you have to take all the coils and switches off as well... Much easier to clean by hand, as much of a pain in the rear as it may be...

I don't like the dishwasher for wiring harnesses because corrosion in the connectors could be an issue.
I just use the bathtub, good old Blechewhite (or mean green) and really hot water. The hot water will help loosen up the tight wire stands to get the dirt inside out.
then I take my air compressor and blow out all the water from inside each lamp socket, connector and switch to try and make sure I don't end up with any corrosion on any of those parts.
