So I flipped a coin between that and superman and man am I sad superman didn't win !

This is a really sad movie. The kind you watched and it leaves no emotion anywhere. it's not bad, it's not good it's just ...nothing.

You've been warned !

I did the same, and POTC won too.  However, I was lucky enough to watch it at the Templeton Drive-In in Gatineau.  The way our car was parked gave us a quality view on both screens.  After a few minutes of POTC, we just changed the radio channel and watched Superman instead.

I saw it also.
It was good but Weak there was allot they could have cut out!!!
There where scenes your like what the hell happend and why do we care?
The end was the most stupid thing it reminded me of Back to the future!!!!

On another note Superman was not my favorite either.
I like the new superman I like the new lexx Hate the new Lois and Jimmy.
The story was pretty lame I found.
But had some really nice Eye Candy tho!!!

My opinion differs.  I watched both movies.  Man, was I sad on how crappy Superman Returns was.  The actress that played Lois was the only thing that kept me happy (beautiful eyes even if they are different colors)!  The story was weak and Lex Luther (amazing actor) didn't have enough of a convincing plan.  The effects were so fast framed that you could hardly see anything (ex the inside of the burning plane incident).

POTC was pretty darn good in my view.  The undersea creatures were pretty cool.  The actors all did a great job.  The story was not bad.

Remember that both movies (and POTC especially for next year) are left open for a sequel.

I to was not that impressed with Superman. It felt almost like they tried too hard to make like the older ones but with the added FX. Actors were great with the exception of LOIS and Jimmy and I was left with the feeling that the movie had not ended. Like wheres the punch line kind of thing.

We will see what POTC will be like for us. We may go see it in a week or 2.

i too was lucky to be at the mustage drive in for all shows.  don't really miss a week during the season.  watch both screens.  know the owner so i hang out in the projector room.  meet him at a going out of buisness auction of a kid zone type place.

both movies were ok.  waiting for a hit like 40 year old virgin.  saw that like 6 times last season.

That's all I found. All the others were asked to remove images and video they had which leads me to beleive the above link has fake stuff. But, it still looks cool.

My advice to anyone trying to decide between seeing SUPERMAN or PIRATES.

See SUPERMAN... Not what I call a great movie but it sure has a few great scenes. For me, it was like reading a DC comic book... forced plot, plastic characters, poor editing and great scenery. Guess that's why I became a Marvel fan. I couldn't get tickets for the IMAX 3D, but I feel it would have been worth every cent to get a couple of scenes in 3D.

Skip PIRATES II, save your money and wait for PIRATES III to come out. WARNING, nothing gets resolved in PIRATES II, pretty sad for a two hour plus film. I even dozed off once or twice, but I'll give top marks to the REALLY COOL Davie Jones character. How did they do that? I'd imagine that in PIRATES III, they'll have to recap what happened in the second movie and the action may actually have a conclusion..

Still in the end, I wish I could be like SUPERMAN... doesn't everyone?

Went to see SUPERMAN with JD as well last week, i liked it. I wasnt expecting more from Superman...

Also got to try a gun game i never tried before in the theater arcade, it senses your movement and you have to really dock and move to avoid the bullets.. very cool.

BWAAHAAAHAAAAAA..  That's the whole point!  Otherwise why would you go see POTC 3???   It was the same thing with the Matrix and the Star Wars trilogies (SW 2 and SW 5).  #2 of a trilogy is supposed to be dark, depressing, unresolved..   Basically a bummer..
