Well I finally got my holy grail pinball. It's going to need lots of work, but I wanted a winter project, and this one should keep me busy. I picked up lots of parts for it at Expo, but I couldn't find an original manual, if anyone has a spare, I could use one, I have lots of manuals for trade ect.
Speaking of Expo, Tom and I had a great time, the seminars were a hoot, I won a can of triple thick glaze at Phobe's restoration seminar, and I watched jealously as Norm from Clays video fame won a Family Guy, nos playfield during the Pat Lawler Show. I had some of Python's home made jerky, and he even bought me a beer.....what a party animal he is. I got him to sign some of his sketches that I had bought last year and he even finished the missing arm on my BOP sketch....he really is a "Crazy Cat"
Our wives came down for the weekend and we did the Chicago touristy stuff. Pizza Uno, Blue Chicago, Navy Pier, Field Museum, ect. Even went to a taping of Steve Wilko's show.... could have been better if it was Springer....but ohh well.
And to top it all off, No hassles at the border!!!!!!
The pictures aren't that good but the game doesn't 'seem' to need that much work... Definitely doesn't seem the fit the description of a project.. What's the work?

Here are some of the things that don't work, there is no sound, I have a feeling that its the amps that are dead. I will have to find a source for those still. Still has 3 bad switches, 1 flipper switch and 1 upper lane and 1 frank target. The game fails the loop test but the gates at the top seem to work during full moon fever. Strange. Frank table works in test mode and ball search, but will not stand up in a real game. The target bank works but not frank.
Now here is the real puzzler, no multiball, you can play the game but it will not go into any multiball no matter what you do. You never see more than 1 ball on the playfield.
If anyone has any tips? So like I said, its a project, cosmetically it looks pretty good, silkscreened cab, very early production, perfect translite.

Audio is probably the amplifier section of the A/V board. Could be two bad TDA2030A's but more likely is blown filter caps. First thing you want to do though is check the ribbon cable.
As for multiball see if the ball trough sensor is working properly.
If your having multiple switch issues and the switches meter out ok then your probably into some logic issues with the switch matrix on the driver board. Many things may be problematic including your multiball issues do to this being reliant on switches sensing where the balls are.
You should be able to source your amps from Great Plains Electronics. He sells them for 3 bucks each.
it will not go into any multiball no matter what you do.
I have seen this symptom before in Visual Pinball if the ball trough switches are connected in the wrong order. But the software could decide not to offer multiball in response to a variety of detected problems on the playfield. Get it to pass the diagnostic tests and maybe it will behave properly without looking any further...
Nice project!
Playable Now: Centaur II, Doctor Who, High Speed. Playable Soon: Breakshot, Sorcerer Later: Flash, Genie, Seawitch Fondly remembered: Firepower

Ensure that frank isn't disabled in the settings. You have to get the test to pass TWICE in order to have it registered as good. It may be a switch problem with the up/down target bank.
Also note that there many things that can get disabled through settings so I usually reset everything to factory defaults when I get a game. The upper loop switch is being compensated by the lower loop switch. That's why the gates open.

If you wanted to get Frankenstein to work why didn't you just say. "Ok Igor, stand back while I throw the switch".

WRONG.. It's "Flip the switch".. And sometimes Igor says: "hehehe you said flip"

I did reset factory settings....frank ect is not disabled. I did check trough...in switch test, each ball in read propery ball 1, ball 2, ball 3 , ball 4.
It does fail loop test...it tries the test with nothing...just a failed message comes up. Does anyone know what is supposed to happen during this test.
I thought it might be the auto ball launcher, but I set it to autolaunch in 30 sec and it did launch the ball.
Much thanks to all for the tips. I will order some amps, thanks for the url Glen.
Did you do the loop test with the coin door closed?
The door has to be closed to have power to the gate solenoids. Door open it will fail the test.
Get a ball. Start the test. Close the door and pass it around the loop. Repeat for the opposite direction. The ball should make the entire loop. register the switches in sequence and open the appropriate gate to allow the ball to orbit fully.
It just checks switches 61 through 64 and ensures the logic recognizes which direction the ball is approaching from to operate the appropriate gate.
