Ok guys, tonight is a first start for my MAME project. After a few months looking at that dismantled cab and parts, i finally put something up togheter

So step 1: Die Hard cabinet given by Moolit Knight beeing hooked up to a Violence Fight Jamma board and a 25 inches monitor. Status : done and 100% working with controls and sounds. (view pics below)

Step 2: next i am going to hook a pc to it via a J-PAC... shouldnt be too hard at that point Will update after i spent my $$$ on the J-Pac and pc... good night folks, no need to say i am very excited ! Thx to everyone from who i got the parts...

Here we go, step #2 completed !

Cabinet all back togheter with working game inside.

That brings us to step 3. J-PAC on its way...

Here's how it looks like, with an extra father in law playing my pinball in the background... and probably making a new score.

Keeps me excited a little while i am waiting for pin money....

Yes John i will mame it, not like it would harm anything, Jamma makes it very simple, can unplug pc and plug real board  in less than 10 seconds...

Thing is, i would put a good game board inside but the good ones arent really cheap. Since i am a cheap a**, i will go for the classics on mame, and maybe buy a good board or two later down the road. Will need to eventually install 3 mores buttons for each player but thats another project by itself (looking at my skills...)

P.S. Battlezoneman, you were right, that monitor is very crisp and clear !!! i love it !   Colors are bright, i was expecting it to be worst, high five !

Step #3 has been done !

I have reformatted at least 50 times.. but i finally found how to configure the f***** arcade video modes.

JPAC operationnal, everything is working ! I need a new project !

Well, only thing that can possibly be made is upgrading the pc now. Its rather slow (but working great Dave_W !) Lots of games are running too slow on it. I dont really mind as Tetris is working flawlessly (i promised my wife she would be able to play Tetris, reason why that huge cab got a place in the basement...)

Heres the usual pics, nothing spectacular, just a few screens and a pic of the JPAC hooked to the pc.

Nice cab! And good work too! Sorry all for my recent disapearance, brother in law is still in bad shape, so I am jugling school, hospital visits and work! Yes my mame is still all over the kitchen, so its nice to see someone else get some work done for a change!

On a side note, it might be done this year, my mame....

Glad to see you got it working!!!!
I never thought that old PC would ever get used again...

Hope it does the trick until you find a faster one.

The whole thing looks really great though, and the color on the monitor is super.

thx Dave Yep did the trick really good, of course only a selected few games are running well right now, but upgrade is near the corner.

Will replace the motherboard/cpu/ram/videocard in the upcomming week, everything should be back to perfect speed.

At the same time, i will have your old mobo/ram/cpu/videocard available for anyone who might need it (for free of course), lets share the goods !

(pentium-166 mobo with cpu and 64 (or 128 ? i forgot) megs of ram, S3 pci videocard, just msg me and its yours once i pulled em from the box.)
