I am so, so happy!!  I just finished the deal on my HUO LOTR machine.  Only 425 plays on it.  One owner since 2004.  $3500US plus shipping, taxes, customs.  Will be over $4000 by the time it gets here.

Now I need to sell my CFTBL to help pay for it -

Get something to protect the artwork around the flipper buttons...it will rub off, and the colour of the sideart material under the ink is bright white.

$3500 HUO LOTR's are common in the US, you see them regularly advertised on RGP and Ebay. Routed ones are generally sold in the $2800-3000 range. The problem is that there are few in Canada.

Congrats on the new pin, great playing game!! With the US$ being so low now, it is a good time to buy them from the US.

$1000 too high is a bit harsh.  It goes for $2500 US avg.  His hologram is still green.  Playfield is nice.  Cab is nice.  It should go higher.  I'm not an expert in CREECH so that's as far as I'm going to say.

Ignore Phil, that's what most of us do

His prices have no basses in reality, there only what he is willing to pay not what they are actually worth.

Depends if Phil was looking at the 3.9K or the 3.6K, I agree it's not 1 K over lower but generally in C$ it is a high 2K's maybe low 3K's not a mid 3K in my mind but then again if it is a collector's type setup maybe 3's make some sense ... it comes down to the old whatever the market will bear or what it is worth to one guy somewhere out there.

I have Mylar that I put on my TSPP when I bought it and it works awesome - I will definately be doing that.  The reason I love the fact that this one does not have the gross wear around the flipper buttons - I know you can buy protectors but the damage to the art is still there...

With regards to my Creech - I paid $3500 when I bought it earlier this year.  I guess perhaps I was the one who got taken ??  I bought the NOS translite, new DMD and cliffys.  I paid $3500 because of the mint condition of the playfield and cabinet graphics.  It is a very nice collector's machine but yeah if no-one will pay me $3500 I agree it is not worth $3500 - - - but it's not worth less than $3500 if I don't sell it either

You should adopt pins only's philosophy; just keep everything. Then you don't need to worry about what it's worth. (except CV that is)

I wouldn't say you were taken if it is in collector quality and you wanted it for $3.5K then that's the price .. resale is slightly different as their are fewer collector owner's than regular owners but if you are patient you can probably find a collector that wants it for that price (and as you said it is worth at least that until you sell it)

Ignore the naysayers. Collector quality games are not cheap. Not everyone appreciates that fact. Sure you can find a game for cheaper, but it won't be as nice.

I had my NGG up for a very fair price given the condition and I got jerked around by a MAACA member expecting delivery to Toronto for nothing and offering several hundred less than I was asking. I said "No thanks" and sold it for my asking price to a non-MAACA member in Ottawa. I know if I wanted to replace it, it would have cost me at least what I was asking so I was confident in my asking price. I think the same is true in your case.

Ask yourself, "What will it cost me if I regret selling the game and have to get another". That's the "value" of the game.

And the great thing about selling a pinball...you get to play it until it sells so unless you need the money, no biggie if it doesn't sell right away.

Good luck on your sale.

Cheers,
Duane
