What do you consider 'cheap'???
500?

It'll change your scope!

I'd say "the most bang for the buck"...

...please don't say Medieval Madness... I know of a few 1000-1500$ range pins that are great to play...

"GAME PLAY" is the word here....not collectability... I also find that Demo-Man is fun as hell... I think the backglass could be much better, but the rest is great!! I always get a rush when I get to Demolition Time... sounds are great.... a whole bunch of easter eggs... very fast and fun overall...

I agree with MrHide: The Drake!

Other machines:
- Judge Dredd
- Johnny Mnemonic
- Shadow (even though its price went up in the last few years)

My $0.02

I must admit JM is one fast game and every shoot can be made from either flipper...It is a very under-rated game. With the way pin prices are going you better get it now though or there won't be a Williams DMD that fits this discription.

Personally, I find that DMDs are already out of this category... I find that some old SS pins from the early 80's are just as much, if not more exciting than some of the DMDs out there...

I think that Xenon beats out Popeye, Dirty Harry and Congo any day... and it is much les expensive...

''best game play underated "cheap" pinball machine'' for me is a non-working but complete and in nice condition EM, for less than $200 if possible (although it is getting impossible to find them locally in great/complete conditions at a low price... I did find some cheaper ones recently, but with no backglass nor back cover nor legs, and some BGs are very expensive if can be found at all).

...In addition to the great fun & challenge to troubleshoot, fix, shop revive & beautify these marvels, then we get to play them for an affordable amount of $.
Flipping fun!!!!     Ding! Ding! Ding!

While the ruleset is very shallow on most EMs and early SS, I still feel that the ratio of fun/cost is much higher for those older games than for the newer DMDs, at least in my opinion...
Mind you I played the arcades in the late 70s and early 80s, I guess I am biased!

Some Gottlieb EMs can be quite challenging to play, especially some of the drop-target games (and some System 1 & 80 can be challenging but fun to fix
I used to own a Bally Bazaar, it was fun with its zipper flippers and mushroom targets.
And some multi-ball EMs are actually really fun, such as Four Million BC for instance (but the price of that one is quite high usually).

Happy flipping!

Cheers,
- Sylvain
