Look at his feedback.  Fellow MAACA member Gorydeath had an unpleasant deal with him and left negative feedback.

jvegas and gorydeath both left negative feedback.  Where is he located?  I could be interested in his  Top Card but the pics aren't hi res.  Unless I can get someone local to try it I think the bad feedback from MAACA members is enought to make me pass.

Ask him for high res pics. His responses are quite funny. Last time I asked for high res pics, he said "the machine is wrapped up and ready for shipping. The pics on ebay are as good as they get."

Yeah right. Let me go right ahead and bid on your crap.

Fairly nice fellow, I bought a pin off him years ago.
Most of his stuff is pretty much beat though, and poorly represented.
He usually won't let you inspect your purchase & tends to have the machine fully wrapped-up with plastic so you couldn't see it if you wanted to. He's not too hot on the technical side of things, so it may work, or not, or only work half-assed.
If you want to play it safe, you need to visit & demand to see what your bidding on before you commit yourself. Not trying to knock the dude, but better be safe than sorry.

Too bad my best man at my wedding moved from St Catherines to Bay City MI in the fall or I would have him inspect it.  Thanks all very much for your input.  I did ask for Hi Res pics but have not heard back from him.

took one of my mars treks to St Catherines and meet another that didn't have good dealings with him.  they ended up trading and got the short end of the stick with non working machines.  that was somebody in their own city.  imagine what they will do to a ebayer.
he has the items wrapped all up in plastic wrap at his storage unit.  he says no power there for testing and that he prepackage so its easy to take with me.  so i didn't get to check out anything.
the circus i got off him stated everything was great and orginal.  it had targets made out of paper on the rotto and drop target that were hand drawn.  not that much of a problem.  but the poppers never worked.  his tech wasn't much help over the phone.  paid for the popper boards to be sent to him quick and he said all was fixed.  nothing still worked.  took two turns for my own tech to get to the real problem with the machine.  costed way more in the long run then what i just sold it for.
i will never deal with him again due to the fact he doesn't stand behind what he sells and now his auctions state more or less if there is a problem its due to his tech not telling him.(run on sentence)
but hey, he has great deals all the time.  but remeber you get what you paid for.  please tell him that you want it set up and running for when you pick it up.  that should make him stutter

I know he has some tempting deals, but he has a terrible rep on RPG under Mr. Buy Right and his previous Ebay name Buy 1 Direct.  I’ve often wondered where he gets all his machines.  I wonder if old machines are more abundant in the Niagara region due to tourism?

His reply to some Hi Res pics and his location:

St catharines, 10 minutes from Niagara Falls. The game as stated is  working good, backglass , playfield good. The game was wrapped & put in storage after taking pictures as I needed room, so I am unable to take more pictures. sorry.

storage unit is only 15min away from his home.  been to both places.  easy for him to do pics.  love the way he sets up his ebay pics so you never really see the wear spots.

I asked him:
If I could play it and it works I will buy it.  I have heard people say that is an excuse for a non working game in rough condition.  Can I see it work?
Steve

His reply:
No, AS i stated i needed room, it is no longer available for play. read my feed back, if your not satisfied, sorry I can't help u.But I do not put machines up 4 sale until they are gone over by technician & working properly.

The guy's nuts. I don't even bother looking at his auctions anymore except to see what kind of junk he's trying to peddle now. I wouldn't buy from him if my life depended on it. I mean, seriously, who wouldn't allow a potential buyer to come see the machine before bidding. And the reason his auctions seem like deals is because the pin community has come to know that his crap is... well... crap, and the only ones bidding on his .... crap.... are the uninformed general public.

I've met Bob (AKA Mr Buyright) and his tech (George I think.) They are both retired and getting on in age. The machines that I've seen, on the most part, are pretty tired and the operation reminds of one of those used car dealers who patches cars for resale.

I found them to be good natured people who have had no resevations about me coming to St Catherines to check and play the machine that I'm about to bid on. Sometimes I have to be quick because they are about to wrap up the machine. I imagine that there's a huge turn-over going on in his garage.

They may overlook a problem here and there, but, in my opinion Bob isn't out to steal from anyone. He's a normal guy trying to make as much money as he can.

It makes me wonder, how often the description of a pinball machine on ebay is spot on?

i don't know about that.  look at feedback i left and his reply.  he is stating that the machine was tested at his place with me there before i took it.  it was all wrapped and was told he didn't have a power outlet for this to be tested on.
his auction stated the greatness of the machine (he has changed his listing alot now-adays)and easy to see poppers were not working pre-sale.  also the paper made taget and hand printed one.  i asked him about that and reply was that i did that and they were prefect before.  he says i changed them.  wacked out kind of guy.  again, meet collectors in his own city that he has taken.  trade was for working machines and bob got a couple of great ones that he sold on ebay (his only good ones, i bet).  he was to give the guy three em's in excellent to mint shape.  two were non working garbage with bad flaking bg's and other problems.  other was ok.  i paid top dollar for my machine and had to pay alot for it to get up and running.  never had it up and running in my hands.   but new guy has straight from my repair guy in toronto(evan).  he too (evan) has bad stories about what he has gotten and loads of other collectors in the gta area.  well thats enough venting....
