I am currently looking for a couple items. I have a couple Shinobi PCB's both of which have no sound. One is a Type A board and the other is a B board. After looking around it appears the B board is fixable but...this B board I have seems to be made up of clone eproms and was wondering if anyone had a set of originals with a replacement A7 sound eprom to make this thing work right.
Also, I am looking for a Bubble Bobble PCB original or the clone Bobble Bobble. Either one will work.
Let me know.
Thanks.

Having new eproms done is fine with me as long as it works. Here is what my pcb looks like compared to an original. Like I said, the game works all the way through but just has no sound. The other board I have, an A Type board I was told by numerous sources it would not work even with new roms.
I have already replaced the Z80 and had a programed A7 rom as well but since the other roms are not the original ones it didnt work. The Z80 is still in but everytime I put the A7 rom in the screen stays green and wont boot. Once I take it out and put the original rom back in and leave the new Z80 chip it works but w/out sound.

I found the old thread in RGVAC on this suject Sega also had some system 16 boards with a Custom Z80. If it was the custom, you'll have to burn a new set of eproms that will work with a regular Z80, or find a replacement custom Z80.

Are you sure A7 is a sound rom ?
"Usually" even when bad, a sound rom won't prevent a game from booting (...unless there is a specific diagnostic routing that detects the bad rom and gives you an boot error. )
When a games just sits blank, it's "usually" not because of the sound eprom.
Additionally, when looking at the link I gave you, the last paragraph states :
Shinobi, Sega System 16B CPU: 68000 + MC8123B (317-0054) Program roms: epr-11355.a5 & epr-11356.a7 Tiles: mpr-11363.a14, mpr-11364.a15 & mpr-11365.a16 Sprites: mpr-11366.b1, mpr-11367.b2, mpr-11368.b5 & mpr-11369.b6 Sound CPU Code: epr-11377.a10 Sound Data: mpr-11362.a11
So I'm guessing that your A7 eprom is actually a game eprom, and that your sound eproms are A10 and/or A11.
