http://cgi.ebay.ca/Pinball-LED.....?hash=item20acd16ecbHey, saw these on E-Bay. Is this a good deal for a bulk buy? I looked at the buyer's feedback and it seems everyone has been happy with what they received so far. Just wondering if anyone here has ordered from them? Cheers. |

Its a fair deal. You can pay approx. the same from cointaker.com and order EXACTLY what you want. I have been happy with their product and service. |

That *is* cointaker.com That being said, I've been ordering from Cointaker.com for some time now and am quite happy with their products.. their flat-rate shipping is a bit of a bummer though. |

I was looking at these last night. After seeing WBradley's HSII done up I was quite impressed with the results. The most noticable difference other than tone was the responsivenss of the leds. Immediately on and off. Made the game look a little more high tech. Probably not for every machine but in certain games that's a pretty cool effect.
Need to do a little more research on the colour aspects i.e. not using colored LED's in the red end of the spectrum. That and the requirement for a capacitor to reduce flicker on dimmed lighting. Both considerations Warren brought to my attention. |

I was thinking of using the whites in my Slugfest which has GI that stays on all the the time. I'm not sure if the white would be too stark or not. I find the LED's light harsh to look at in certain situations(especially the white). Maybe I'll buy a couple of each in different colors and try them out that way. I think it comes down to a personal taste whether you want to use the old style lighting or LEDS. I do like the fact that LEDS are near '0' maintenance.

I'm considering buying a LED insert kit from BCSpinball. Does that make sense or should I do the work and figure out exactly the bulbs I need and order from cointaker? Sorry for thread jack.
I'm thinking of doing it for my F-14. |

I too use cointaker. I have many PinballLife LED and have only had your problem with the 555's (red) that they had on sale a while ago. I just took some "meat" off the plastic bulb housing with a file and then it fit right in the 555 holder no problems. All other LED's that I have bought from Pinball life (VIA pinballJM) have fit perfect with no problems. (I got the 555's that had problems fitting direct from PinballLife) I have a BUNCH of cointaker LED's and am VERY happy with them. there 1HP+4normal led bulbs are WILD, the only prob with them in 44/47 formatt is that they do not fit thru the holes in the play-field, thus you need to insert them into the bulb holder form the top of the play-field |

I have had no problems with cointaker. F14 will look good. No matter what, get a few of these in white http://www.cointaker.com/product.sc?productId=68&categoryId=9there wicked. If you want to come by and see 3 games done with cointaker (mostly) LED's let me know. I should be back in town by Sat. |
