You can get a full rom set mailed to you, google search for the Lazarus project. You can probably find a complete, or mostly complete set on a torrent somewhere.
Currently Owning: Vids- Road Blasters, Road Runner, Joust, Golden Tee 2005 Pins- Back to the Future, Theatre of Magic, Joker Poker, Grand Tour, Hyperball
Previously Owned: Vids- Far too many to list Pins- High Speedx2, The Shadow, Mystic.
But anyway it's not legal do have some rom mame if you don't have the pcb of the games.. !
Looking for :
Jukebox that play's 45's disk -- Jukebox qui joue des 45 tours.. Anything about pinball or arcade to give in quebec region.. Looking to Buy : Candy Cab !!
Of course it would be nearly impossible for anyone to own every pcb ever produced, but there must be a couple of these guys since this site has developed a good way to download and keep a full romset updated without having to redownload the whole thing.
Keeping a full romset *UPDATED* is a bit of a newbie thing (just like a rotating monitor - which I had).. I've had a MAME cab now for 8 years. At first that's what I was doing - keeping up-to-date with all the roms. Then you'll realize it's not that important unless you get to a game that you really want but wasn't emulated yet (not that many left) and it comes out in the latest version. The newer ones with CHDs don't run at full speed anyway so when they add new games now it's most likely unable to run like it should.
Also, adding clone # 10 of a particular game that you already have 9 versions of doesn't really matter..

Actually, you may even want to search for a more "refined" list of roms. I know I will. As much as I'll miss picturing a Mah-jong upright machine, or Mat-Mania in Japanese, I think instead of 7 freakin DVD's, there's in fact about HALF a CD worth that actually get any play.
Like Mr.Mikeman said, the other 9 versions of are a waste of space really. Even though they were a necessary evil to pass along for other guys to work on, and improve them to arrive at satisfactory "complete" version.
Same here... I don't have the 6 DVDs You can't ask me for the roms that I don't have from the DVDs I don't own to not burn the essentials on CDs that I don't have and not send them to you, that I don't know!

I would agree. The value of the site isn't the update method, but the number of seeds. Of course they ask that you seed out of respect for the system. ....that is if you were to be one of those lucky people who had a warehouse full of thousands of PCBs.
On the topic of a pared down game list. Since everyone has such diverse taste, how do you know that the pared down list isn't missing something that someone else wants? I'm really interested in this. It's like there needs to be a system like they use to match up daters, but instead you fill in information like: I don't like mahjong games, don't want any adult titles, don't wany any japanese titiles .....
If there were someone who had a pared down romset, would those people be willing to disucuss it or "refuse" to participate in illegal CD burning activities at a meeting of MAACA?
