And the first round is nearly done! Both SquidVicious and Ricker have a good lead with Hippochrome one point behind, but with 4 series still not completed, it is still a crapshoot! For instance, if MTL and PHO both win it in 7, two picks that no one chose except for Ricker in the MTL series, that gives me 16 points.

Suckes for the Sens though... I turned on the game and it was 3-1 Sens... then they fell apart. I would have LOVED to see both Crosby and Ovechkin fall in the first round...

The whole series have been intense. Great year ... who would have said Phoenix was to go 7 games against Detroit, or the Habs not lose in 4!!!

Well, there is a positive to it all... Sens players will break in the golf courses so the good players can play after. Plus, they are useful for international tournaments while the real teams play.

I havent been following this thread really but I'll predict flyers in 7. I'd love to see Chigago roll them but the Flyers defense is unlike anything Chicago has come across this playoffs. If the Flyers can catch Chicago...and thats the big 'if'...they'll hammer them.

3 points for the correct amount of games.

Besides... Hippo picked the Flyers as well. If Philly wins in 7, Hippo makes another 8 points. If they win in 6, he gets 5 points. If chicago wins, he gets 3 points from his bonus final picks. The closest scenario is Chicago wins in 6. Them McMean gets 8 points, Hippo gets 3. McMean is still 5 points short.

If he does what you suggest, and picks the Flyers 6 six and it happens, Hippo also gets 5 points for picking the Flyers, and then the points gain is really only 3 points.

... unless I disqualify Hippo for being a Flyers fan.

I think I'm on to a conspiracy theory - Hippochrome makes wild and wacky accusations against the NHL so people here make wild and wacky preditions of series, while he makes normal predictions and wins the pool.  Funny how the guy who claims the NHL is rigged is the same guy who wins the pool, even though his claims of what was rigged were wrong.
