I got a call from a nice lady telling me that her grandkids found my name on the web through MAACA and was asking me if I repair games.

Apparently, she has a Mystery Score, a Gottlieb Baseball (1970) and a Gottlieb Sunshine (1958 ) that needs our help. The machines are there for her grandkids, but they stopped working recently, and was wondering if I could help.

I am going to see her Sunday at 2pm. I might ask for your help so we can help her out...

More details to come soon...

OK... I just came back from Mrs.Freeman's house. Here is what she has:

1949 Gottlieb Basketball. Actually in amazing condition!!! I was very surprised! I actually got it going in less than 5 minutes, but now the coil which advances the score (on IPDB, the backbox image shows the unit, on the lower right) is a Williams and it stays locked on now and buzzes loudly. Otherwise it works great. Heck, it even looks better than the one on IPDB!!!

1958 Gottlied Sunshine. It turns on, but I can't get it to start at all. This one probably needs an overall check on all switches, it is somewhat dirty. Not as nice as the Basketball, but decent.

1965 Midway Mystery Score. Looks very nice! Not a damn flake or chip on the backglass! Wow! Playfield just dirty. Cab near perfect! It turns on, but won't register a credit. I tripped the 25-cent relay manually and it starts, but won't throw a ball. It does react when you manually hit a target, but the score never stops going up then.

I checked the stepper unit and most are gummed up. The mystery score one won't even budge. So this one just needs a cleaning.

Oh... did I mention she is open for a trade? She wants to keep a pin or two for her grandkids...

Great!  If you can get them running this will make a great x-mas gift...  if not, I'm sure you can find nice working machines for her... Basketball have a good value and sunshine too for EM.

Well, I figure that the reason the step-up coil is locked on on the Basketball is possibly because a scoring switch on the playfield is stuck. I played fine for a few minutes and then it started buzzing.

I will see if I can get some schematics for these.

Anyone have an electronic copy?

Just because GTB has a stupid bug up their *ss doesn't mean the paper isn't out there in electronic form (and available for the asking).  But the older stuff is relatively rare because most of it went awol before scanners became a "reality".

There was a torrent a couple of years ago listed as 4Gs of manuals. I don't know if anyone ever DL'd it on here but it seems like for instances where your going out to service it might come in handy.
