Congrats !
I find that rare EMs are not often found for a good price anywhere. Especially if working...
A production of only 155 is indeed very low - and rare...
Bravo !
Cheers, - Sylvain. |

Boy they're giving it to you good clomizac, I do agree totally with the sentiment that if you use lifted pictures, without a disclaimer you are misrepresenting the item, do I smell copyright infringement? We just don't do it here unless your name is Mr. Anderson.
I wonder why it was re-painted, if the original paint is still good? |

Funny stuff.
Yep.. Too much of a hurry to make a quick buck that he didn't even have time to take pictures Not that it'll sell at that price in that condition tho.. And using the Mr Pinball price as a reference indicates total "newbieness".. Someone didn't read the first part of the price guide.. You know the part where it states that prices listed reflect a machine that's : "100% working, recently shopped, and in excellent cosmetic condition".. My 0.02$ Mike |

Yes it was brought to my attention about the picture and the issue will be fixed very soon....reason why I couldnt take pictures is that the machine is behind another one and I am waiting for my friend to help me move since I have back problems.
Now this is MY machine and it's ME that sells it.....when you guys sell machines I have NEVER made one single comment.
And this is the only one of my 27 machines I will sell and the reason why I am selling it is that it will allow me to buy a more expensive (more recent) machine which I dont have enough money to buy right now.
As for Mr Pinball price its just an indication for the people who ARE NOT in the hobby but want to iwn this particular machine.
ALSO I listed it on a 10 cent day just to see if people are interested.
Happy with me justifying myself everybody?

I don't mean to rain on your parade here.... When you purchase a machine from an on-line classified for a good price (which every real pinball collector watches every day), gloat about it here, then you list it on Epay for 3x what you paid (price guide or not), you'd better have some pretty big shoulders!!! I mean let's be realistic here... There was no way you were going to get away from that without SOME flack. (especially seeing this particular game sticks out like a homing beacon) Don't try to hang your lack of good judgement on Cooke just because he had the stones to call you on it.

And unfortunately for you this is a PUBLIC forum, along with the on-line classifieds, so it's not like he was posting anything "TOP SECRET".... The reason members like Cooke point this stuff out (and others in the past) is so fellow members of our community don't get totally screwed over, especially when the original price of the game is inflated by such a large margin. I think the point is, is that clearly you are committing fraud. How could anything you do be taken seriously, when not only do you steal someone elses pictures, but then admit to it. Did you warn the people in the auction that "The pictures are ones I stole from somewhere else, because I can't get to the machine right now, but wanted to make 10 cent listing day"
Quoted Text

So - brought to your attention? That you didn't knowingly steal them?

No. Its one thing to justify to us, who will use this as character reference, its another to the people bidding on the auction.

Actually, if you check the wealth of knowledge that cooke has, you will see that he contributes to the community a hell of alot more then you.

There are mods. Many of them. YOU posted on a public forum. That invites people to comment on it. What right do you think you have to not be questioned. As you have already shown your moral character, how can you not expect this to happen. If someone is interested in the auction, and were to bid on it, its nice to know that someone is looking out for them. To get the truth behind the machine. (and, now, the truth behind the man). |

Fine by me that this is a public forum but this guy has been banging on me for weeks now.....and one of the picture IS from that machine just the backglass wasnt.....and like I said I will have one up tonight....I see many adds with pinball that have a link to ipdb because the person cannot take pictures.
Since I have been a member.....
1. Bought parts from members 2. Bought machines from members 3. Offered help to bring machines to other cities 4. I have been REAL NICE to everybody
Was even planning to attempt next meeting... OK yes I am a newbie and will probably do things I shouldnt not knowing I am not suppose to but there is a way to tell people about it other then the ones used here today.
And for THAT GUY who finds it funny I am saying that the mr pinball book has it listed at 2100$ I only said it was listed at that....not that this is a bible and we all have to use it as such.
I knew nobody here would buy it.....I am looking for a guy who absolutely wants it and wants to pay for it....if not it will stay here thats all. |

This above statement I think is what everyone is having a problem with. Newbie or not, it's just not the right thing to do, which makes us question your true character. Are you a hobbyist, or a re-seller? Unfortunately you can't be both. If you had no intention of keeping the game in the first place (which is questionable given the amount of time you've actually owned the game) it would have been nice to pass the game on to a fellow collector that truly wanted it for a reasonable price. (even if you added a little bit for your effort, but not THAT much) D. |

At what point is fraud committed. One of the pictures is correct so you are innocent? Please! Give your head a shake. The fact is you committed fraud. You got caught, and now your trying to pass the buck. "f*** you". No you see links to IPDB because its a PUBLIC FORUM where people can comment and review on the game. Not because "I'm too lazy to take pics of my actual game and trying to find a sucker to get it off my hands". You have been nice to people here. Thats great. Oh, except this thread, where someone calls you on committing fraud, proves it, so you try to trash them.

Someone may have bought it here - but - were a close group that checks things, like knowing when people commit fraud. The fact is that if you tried that mess on here, posting pics, your a** would have been handed to you. But instead, lets post it on ebay and hopefully no one checks. Thats Classy. |

You're right.. I'm sorry for saying that.. It's not like you set the starting bid at pretty much the same value as listed in the book.. err.... I'm just pulling your leg man relax!!! You opened the door for FLAK and you got it TEN fold!! Take it with a grain of salt. Anyway it's a small community.. We pretty much all know each other.. A lot of us have had oppurtunities to buy low - sell high.. We are just a bit more discreet about it that's all (don't brag about a deal if you're gonna flip it).. The point about online classifieds is very valid. Many guys think they're the only ones surfing/searching online classifieds, newgroups, kijiji, etc. The reality is that we all do it Group hug Mike |

A fraud? Wow....reason why I am not posting it for sale here is because 99% of people here are into recent games except for 2-3 guys...I have 27 machines that are NOT FOR SALE whatsoever....just wanted to make a good enough profit to get myself a recent machine but I should have just waited 5 years thats my mistake. Of course NOBODY here wants to make a profit....you guys are ALL about losing money.
A fraud is when you dont have a machine or when you lie.....couldnt get a frigging picture of the backglass because my friend didnt show up...I HAVE BACK PROBLEMS...new pictures are up on ebay right now.....tanks a lot for the f*** you...I REALLY REALLY DESERVE ALL THIS....I AM A VERY BAD GUY AND A THIEF WITH NO HEART. |

Did I say that? Please quote me where I said you couldn't make a profit? (actually if you read it again I specifically mentioned adding a few bucks for your time / effort if you were going to flip it) The hobby isn't about losing $$, nor should it be about making $$ either. That's why it's called a hobby. If you are in this to make profit, you are a re-seller and not a hobbyist. As Mike mentioned we are a close group and look out for fellow collectors, and there have been many posts about this issue, and I doubt it will be the last. We take great offense when other collectors seem to be out to screw fellow collectors, a.k.a poinball machine owners. (hence the flak) Try looking at this from a different anlge... Say you're in the market for an EK, and you find the ebay listing @ 2K. You decide to ask fellow collectors if it's a good deal (as many of us do), and the forum digs up all the info about the original price on that specific game and whatnot for you. Would you not feel like you were being cheated? Wouldn't you feel good knowing the community probably just saved you a bunch of $$? (as that game can be had elsewhere for less) Hope that puts a different spin on it. D. |

Realizing that the horse is dead, but still. So I took a picture of something else, and portrayed it as mine. Thats a lie. Ergo, a fraud. (Your definition). We don't give a mess what you do. But, the problem is that you started attacking someone when they called you out. While I may not care about his actions, I will defend that person, as they were doing something to PROTECT the people on here, from people who will fraudulently put items up, or misrepresent themselves. Which, you clearly state that you did here. Were not all about losing money. It happens. Thief - no, a thief takes something thats not his. You took a pic that wasn't yours. Ok, so, you are right. A thief, and a fraudulent ebay seller. Can't comment on the "heart" issue. Never once said you were lacking there. |

Here is a fact by your own post
Quoted Text
plus nobody is FORCED to buy it
That's the kind of statement that makes you look like a crook, your fishing for a newb who doesn't know any better hoping they pay your inflated price. Fact, that machine is not worth 2K in it's current condition, the cabinet is basically usless, the whole thing needs to be re-done, that does not equal a 2K machine. If you re-stncil the cabinet then mabye the game would be worth your asking price but stating in the the acution "A Little goof will take the paint of" That's incorrect, and again misleading, your making it out like a little elbow grease and this game will be good as new, if it's so easy they why don't you do it and then sell the machine. No one would have anything to say if you were representing the game properly what people do have a problem with is people fishing for uninformed sellers so you can make a quick buck. If that game was worth what you are asking for and you were just flipping the machine with your own actual pictures you wouldn't have heard word 1 form anyone on this form other then mabye good luck with your sale. It's the misleading auction and the fake pics and the inflated price that are getting you hammered on this forum. My 2 cents anyway. |

Here is a story......
A man posts an add for a twilight zone....wants to sell it 300$ because his son died and it is just taking room.....knows nothing about pinballs.
A guy from the CLOSE people on maaca see's the add first and picks it up.
He has one already but gheez....that was a gooooood price!
This maaca guy comes up to a fellow maaacaer and offers it for 400$ because he wants him to enjoy it as much as he does with the one he has and he absolutely wants him to have one in his collection.
Please be honest and post your name on this list if this is what you would have done.

Where are the mods? this is simple we do not get involved with other peoples disputes, did it in the begining = real bad idea> I had people caling me at work saying "what am I going to do about it" and i knew nothing of what was goin on cause I was working. this is part why the meetings exist you meet people in person and talk face to face and most of the time it keeps the boards civil. I or other mods will step in only when asked and even then the most I will do is lock the post and you can deal with people privately PM, email etc we do not delete posts anymore it pisses too many people off. other than that the reason why this site is successful is because it is self regulated (no one on power trips). so if you would like me to lock the post I will please pm me or click an admin link, but there is no time to play referee. we are all adults here and for the most part should condut ourselves in that manner.
thank you for your understanding, and I am sure you will be able to correct your differences. |

Ok so you now know much this machine is worth?...its PERFECT other then the paint. Ever seen one sold? Ever seen one period?
And when you refer to THE PEOPLE have a hard time with this....its you and 2 other guys?
You know what man....a guy warned me about some maaca people being exactly like that and now I see it.
Whatever I say will never be good enough.

That's not what were asking you to do. If we were to take your story and apply it to this it would be the following: A man posts an add for a twilight zone....wants to sell it 300$ because his son died and it is just taking room.....knows nothing about pinballs. A guy from the CLOSE people on maaca see's the add first and picks it up. He has one already but gheez....that was a gooooood price! This maaca guy comes up with an auction and wants to sell this TZ for $5000 advertises it as collector quality even tho the cabinet is blown out and throws it up on ebay with pics that arn't his. That is what you would be doing, what I would expect a fellow MAACA member to do would be this: A man posts an add for a twilight zone....wants to sell it 300$ because his son died and it is just taking room.....knows nothing about pinballs. A guy from the CLOSE people on maaca see's the add first and picks it up. He has one already but gheez....that was a gooooood price! This maaca guy comes posts an ad on MAACA with pics he took of the machine selling it for $2800 because it has a blown out cabinet but is in otherwise really good shape. I know for a fact that's what I would do because I've taken a LOSS on a number of machines because I'd rather take the loss and be honest and upfront about everything rather then fish around for some newb to pay an inflated price on a machine that isn't worth it. In This scenario the person still turns a nice profit for the good find but is upfront and honest about it and lits it at a reasonable price instead of an inflated one.

Lots of room because I know how generous you guys are.
Comparing apples and oranges. I know that I have personally sold games for the same price that I paid, to friends. And the prices were below market. I have also received some nice deals in return, below market value. Quadrupling the price, without doing anything just smacks of greed to me. Or is opportunistic a nicer word? (Just look at that $600 Joust that I passed on...and how that turned out because of "opportunists"). |

Thanks JD3....I had 2 guys pm me about all this issue (pictures)and I replied that I didnt know and would take care of it right away.....some people just like to publicly attack others and thats not cool at all.....this is killing my reputation and I am nothing of a crook or a thief.
If you read this all its clear that one guy wants my head.....
I bought 8 machines and sold a jukebox and a foosball table on maaca. Made flawless transactions of all sorts as well. Very good ebayer.
What the hell is all this?

Hear the story about the joust...shows how people can be......
About the 2800$ twilight zone.....who are you to decide that my EK is not worth 2000$ because its repainted?...who the heck are you to judge?
The reason why I listed it 2000$ was to see if there was interest....if there isnt I will list it at 1300$ and then 1000$....just wanted to gauge.....its hard to know how much to sell a machine that rare.
Plus the paint underneat is visible and the blue and yellow is almost new so yes it is removable or repaintable in the worse case.
Who knows maybe there is only 25 of those left.....its not worth 2000$????....why not because YOU decided so?.....let buyers decided for themselves.

Ok, if you truly felt that way why start the auction at $2k then? Do you see why so many of us are questioning your morals here? Claiming the game is so rare, and the production numbers and whatnot, I'm sure you're well aware of the Mr. Pinball classifieds. Doing a search there brings up 4 EK's still listed....... If it walks like a duck, and sounds like a duck.... D. |

I find it very comical you took the most expensive EK that was listed on Mr Pinball and chose to use THAT as your example here..... The fact the other 3 listed range from 600-1500, and these are fully shopped out, AND ARE NOT PAINTED YELLOW AND BLUE, should be used as more of a barometer don't you think? (unless the factory produced a super rare limited edition yellow and blue cab.... yeah right) While I will admit the other three listings do not indicate if they are EM or SS, who are you to say one or more are not? Also, if the EK in Switzerland sells at that price maybe you should go phishing in that market for your sucker.... I mean buyer. If you want that kind of profit without the flak, bad back or not, time to put your $$ where your mouth is and get scrapin' that paint off the cab first. Once that's done, post the pics and let the true condition of the machine speak for itself..... D. |

So....got something to say now?....!
As a matter of fact I do; I think you may be on F#@*#@# glue, or perhaps inhaling to much paint stripper; I am the first to admit ya maybe I have made a few extra bucks on stuff that I flip, but not 3 or 4 times what I paid...maybe 100-200 enough to cover gas, lunch and a gram of blow... But I am not stupid enough to brag I got it cheap and then try and sell to members for WAY too much...I usually sell to members and friends for what "I have into it"... I wish I could remember what movie it was in but I remember one of the Brat Pack kids saying in a jimmy cagney kinda of voice..."You my friend are an a**hole" done BTW Have a nice day |

Wow this bashing is getting out of hand.. Welcome to RGP - Canadian edition. He didn't try to sell it to members BTW. He didn't realize that we could track down how much he paid and also find out about his Epay auctions.. He shouldn't have bragged about the great deal he got but give the guy a break! Jesus! It's not like it's gonna sell anyway with the current paint job.. Let him sell it for what he can and get over it Let's get back to having fun. Mike |

Someone didn't read the first part of the price guide.. You know the part where it states that prices listed reflect a machine that's : "100% working, recently shopped, and in excellent cosmetic condition".. My 0.02$ Mike
Mike, An aside ... you really are stuck on making everyone stick to that sticky part of Mr. Pinball's disclaimers. How in the world can they claim to know "excelllent cosmetic condition" when they simply chart classified ads on their site and eBay sales?? I like the guides, but The Mr. Pinball Guide, is just that, a rough guide. There are some people in the world that don't read the guide and base their purchase on a) a theme or era they like, b) proximity of the seller, c) a missing piece for their "collection" and the price goes up. Sometimes you just have to be patient. In Mr Clomizac's defense he is trying to make a buck from what he considers a good find, more power to him and damned be the RPG gang (they weren't likely candidate buyers anyway). I am laughing as I'm saying this, so don't take offense. |

If you throw some green on the backglass while your at it you got a deal!
Ok, so here is a deal for you http://tinyurl.com/2qoxdt A completely repainted backglass. The seller is very honest about it. I kinda like it. Maybe it should be worth more since it's a one of a kind original, hand painted, backglass... I hope I can have good humour when you guys raz me one day for trying to sell Monte Carlo for $2500. |

Actually, although you seem in all respects like a good guy (how they heck else did you get 27 pinball machines), but sorry, technically by stealing and using pictures from another source and passing them off as your own you are committing fraud and copyright infringement and both eBay and the owner of the original images could have issues with that, and certainly the buyers should be made aware. The RPG clan are razzing you because you are asking so much for a repainted body, which devalues the piece (for collectors at least) significantly. So, you made a mistake, a stupid one, but it was just a mistake. It's just that people here have been through it all, so they tend to come down hard (not as hard as RPG mind you, at least you got some good advice here and I can see you took it and changed the pictures). But now we know the latest pics don't show the painted over body. I like this statement "WAS REPAINTED OVER BUT ORIGINAL PAINT (GOOD CONDITION) CAN BE SAVED BY USING GOOF OFF TO REMOVE THIS PAINT" If anything, you should thank everyone and get the goof off and start cleaning. Pinball honesty is correcting the imperfection and then just not saying anything about the "way it was". |

I feel like Michael Corleone from the Godfather... just when I think I am out, they pull me back in. Clomizac has asked to have his account removed. It has been done. Me, on the otherhand, I seem to have sold my soul to JD and I cannot leave unless he sells me. ...I swear this hobby will kill me. Well, at least I have a coffin with a backglass... |

Actually, I've seen at least 2 other EK sell in Canada in the last year. Had a shot at one myself, not nearly as nice a playfield as yours looks to be though. |

wow. just finished reading all this. been kind of away and busy. but man. wow.... glad i didn't post about buying my first pin (dr.who) for only $350can. then keeping it for a week and hating it. sold it to a member (i wasn't a member at the time) for around triple the price and a trade as well. then there was the fireball classic i got for $200 from a man that had it outside. kept it for a year or so. then turned around and sold it for over $1k. i think i told all the buyer how much i paid. i have no problem doing that. if a machine is worth the price i am selling it at then there shouldn't be a problem. haven't really ran across any expesive pins for that cheap again. but if i did, i would do the same if i was going to sell it. sorry to hear another new member has ran away from the group. glad to hear sparky is now a hostage on the board. |
