I love how direct he is. His part about not modifying game because designer intended that way. He is one of my favorite designers because he actually curious on whats said and will replied on why it was done some way.
Life is like Pinball!! You never know where you will bounce or where your going but sometimes you have that one amazing shot But on the other hand you have those darn gutter ball where you just get frustrated.
Steve Ritchie is so awesome. I just wanted to say that.
Oh, and he gave a great interview on a recent podcast, check it out.

I've never understood the love affair people have with Ritchie. His games are mediocre at best, yet most pinball enthusiasts think he's a god. I don't get it.
However, I do appreciate that in the above RGP thread he refers to Adam (indirectly) as "dopey and anal".

Couldn't disagree with you more. ST:TNG, GetAway and NF are some of my favorite games. Fantastic, fast flowing games. Stern Spiderman has become an instant classic and is another Ritchie great. Elvis is just simply outstanding. And let's not forget all the great early SS games he made: Flash, Black Knight, High Speed!!!!, Rollergames (if you can get over the theme it's rocking ), etc.
And most of his games were popular where it counted....on location. I recall seeing line ups for T2 when it first game out. My only complaint was some of his games were too hard and I just didn't like them on location. I absolutely hated ST:TNG as the outlanes were a b****. Once I got to play it a home environment, I loved it.
Thought you liked WPT? That was a Ritchie. I never got into that one.

You forgot about F-14. That game is just nutters man! I also happen to like Superman, it's a shame it's an Atari.
Ritchie probably has the best batting average when it comes to designing good games, he's had VERY few stinkers (WPT?), which is impressive considering the number of games he's designed.

His games are designed for speed freaks for the most part. Fits in great in a collection where they are a very different style than, for example, Pat Lawlor whose games play like the 401 at 7:30 AM (stop and go).

I did say "great early SS games" and I don't consider F-14 to be a great game. It's fun once in a while, don't get me wrong, just don't consider it a great game.
