I'm going to try this post again, moving away from the "piece of crap" to a project machine, non-working pin that I can resume learning repairs on.

I'm looking ideally for a sys11, however would take a WPC, or possibly anything else as well.  I would like to do a sys11 first, then a WPC, but I'll take what I can get, if I can get it.

I don't care about the condition, good condition non-working/bad-condition non working.  This is again for learning first, restoring (as best as I can!), and then deciding what to do with (this is not for "flipping", just for the hobby.  I assume there would some machines that, once, or if, I have fixed, I would no longer have a use for, and would then put it out there for whomever).

I will pay accordingly.

I know a bunch of you hoarders have larger collections of projects than working pins in some cases, so come on, show a brother some love here...

Hoarding has become more common amongst the better era pins in the last couple years, and people protecting their sources as the economy has made sales harder, and people who have decent titles (project or not) seem to be hanging on to them.  The collectors all want to fix and trade up! Even myself who goes through boughts of "poverty and purge" and have had my two High Speed projects up and down on MAACA like a yo - you would rather not give them up without a fight.

You might do well to invest in something better than a project and use that to bargain for an equal or better volume of project machines?

I would imagine, except maybe amongst the lurkers, MAACA collectors would hang on to a Williams System 11 projects (there is no more satisfying project IMHO) and certainly a WPC... so your better bet is to do some ambulance chasing on Kijiji and Craigslist. Either that or spend some time on the phone with smaller operators.

OR take a visit to one of the pinball shows in the US.

Isn't there a pinball swap meet this weekend Aug 22nd in Creemore?  I was practically giving away projects (including a Laser Cue) at the Toronto Pinball Show.

Let's look at the System 11 list:

Bad Cats
Banzai Run
Big Guns
Black Knight 2000
Bugs Bunny's Birthday Ball
Cyclone
Diner
Dr Dude
Earthshaker
Elvira ATPM
F-14 Tomcat
Fire!
Game Show
Grand Lizard
High Speed
Jokerz!
Millionaire
Mousin' Around!
Pin*Bot
Police Force
Pool Sharks
Radical!
Riverboat Gambler
Road Kings
Rollergames
Space Station
Swords of Fury
Taxi
Transporter
Whirlwind

There aren't many amongst that list that would just drop off the apple cart.  I'd give an arm and a leg for a Transporter in any condition. Just sold a Cyclone. Have a High Speed, Black Knight, BK2000, Rollergames and have owned or played 80% of the rest of the list and pretty much loved them all (except for Road Kings for some reason).

Same for WPC's - unless you happen to have access to a Gulf Coast municipality after a major disaster.... you may be on the prowl for a dumpster find for quite a while.  Guys like me hoard them and store them until "one day, when I have a little more time and space"

However, I am saying all this tongue in cheek so that someone out there will try to prove me wrong in your favour!

B1, pssst, that wasn't a cyclone pinball I sold you, it was a cardboard box with the words "Pinball Machine" written on the sides, "Cyclone" in crayon on the top and the "ferris wheel" is actually a wheel of cheese that someone cut seats into. The sound effects are made by a starving cat stuck inside the machine, he gets bonked on the head when you hit the flippers and someone trained him to say "Hurry, hurry, hurraaay, step right up!" and "Hey you, with the face!"

Don't blame me, it came that way from Pat in Quebec....

P.S. Can you throw a sardine in the front every once in a while for the cat, it keeps the sound from cutting out.     Enjoy!
