This could explain why some people think that Twilight Zone is twice as fun as Shadow.

Everyone new to the hobby questions the prices. I have been collecting for over 10 years and the prices (for the most part) make perfect sense to me. When I started, the following games could be easily found shopped and working for $1,600 (or much less if there were issues): TZ, GetAway, White Water, Fish Tales, Demo Man, and Shadow. For $300 more, you could get TAF. For $1000 more, you could get Road Show (yes, it was more than TZ as it was newer -- price was largely based on age of machine back then). Scared Stiff, even back then , was $3K. Under $1,000, you could get any Sys. 11. Again fully working, and shopped. That was retail back then.
Looking at the list, you can see it wasn't a hard decision to get a TZ. I couldn't understand why it was so cheap. And that is why the price continued to increase. Supply and demand. More demand for the game vs. other games. Most folks only want one pin, so they are willing to spend a bit to get the game they want. This drives up the price.
And as Sylvain said, "....there is more than that". The game rocks!
Speaking of TZ, imagine what they would sell for if Williams had produced a run similar in size to MM or MB. It still amazes me the price TZ's go for given that over 15,000 were produced.
