I haven't played my pinball machines in a long time now, and it is not the first time that I think about selling all of them to concentrate on a different hobby. I am sure that other have had that feeling too in the past. When do you know it's time to quit and that you won't regret it?
And all the time I think I may quit, it is for the same reason (beside not playing much): old cars. If anyone has a '67-69 Firebird convertible for trade, I would seriously consider it. First gen Mustang conv too...
It's never time to quit!!! Hey, on est toute pareil, un paquet de pin dans la maison pis on joue presque pas... faut que tu invites des chums pour jouer!

Some times I think about selling everything and purchasing just one higher end pin... Then I think about all the work that would be involved and the feeling goes away.

I did it a few years ago. I had 8 pins, sold them within 3 months. Kept only one. I'm not much of a repairman and was tired of counting one someone else to fix them. I still have only one pin that I trade when I'm tired of it. It works for me.

I saw a 69 Firebird rag-top in town here at the golf course the other day. Looked like a fresh restoration, but didn't have a For Sale sign on it. Even had old school Cragers on it! Nice car to be into, I like em too.
I'd still keep the pins though. To me it's all related, along with juke boxes, neon, Coke machines and the like

This is an awesome way to "phish" for pins......... +1
It's funny you mention this. I just sold a pin to get a vehicle.
My pins have not been getting much love lately and I'm contemplating a move out west soon, so I've been giving it some serious consideration to moving the majority of my games out the door to make this easier. It'd also allow me to paint my car. I dunno, I like pinball but... other things have my attention at the moment.

Before you sell everything why don't you simply shrink a bit and see how you feel, this way you can enjoy a new hobby and still go back to the old one once in a while. Nothing wrong in wanting a bit of change.

I've got 15 pins and not too long ago I was toying with the idea of selling everything off and buying a Factory 5 Cobra... Then I had some friends over for an evening of pinball and beverages and I came to my senses. (how would I have fit all my friends into the Cobra, and where would we have put our drinks?)
-The Getaway: High Speed II!! -Spider-Man -F-14 Tomcat -Guns N' Roses -Lord of the Rings -Twilight Zone
-Medieval Madness! -Indiana Jones (Williams) -Star Trek: The Next Generation -Champion Pub -Terminator 3 -Congo -Johnny Mnemonic -Tales of the Arabian Nights
Nah. My objective one day is to make a decision to sell a couple so I can actually have them all fit. Even that gets tossed aside since I always figure another wall can come out and I will be looking for more.
Unless you need the cash to do something else why would you?
I'd consider selling them all to some impatient guy that just wants a turn key A list collection and has a bucket load of money... then proceed to buy them all back again and do it all over just to enjoy refurbishing them all again. Finding them is not what it used to be, so I would even have some reservations about that.

I said bucket load of money. A bucket load of that Alberta beef by-product isn't what I was looking for.
