Monty Python FTW!

"It's only a flesh wound!"

They'd need Steve Ritchie for that mode.

I don't think a Harry Potter pin would be that bad. There's LOTS of material to work with and the theme could revolve around an evolving/growing sorceror with a true Wizard mode. It is a globally appreciated theme too.

Avatar could be really neat as well. Blacklight mode with a 'power ball' could be cool.

I guess ... the Potter license itself doesn't interest me but a magic/sorcery  type thing could would ... on the other hand I think Avatar and TRON would both be good titles ... but in the end I guess it's the software that will rule the day.

... Pinball Magic, Sorcerer, Theatre of Magic, and countless EMs with a magic theme.

Been there, done that, move along.

Sure, but the HP license might appeal to a younger audience which could encourage new players.

HP = some adult following but mostly teenage following.

This being said, let me tell you a story about the time I was loading a pinball machine in a car and a few teenagers asked me what it was. One of them commented saying it looked like a weird coffin. I told them it was a pinball machine.

Their answer:

"what the heck is a pinball machine?"

Now... do you think a HP pinball would work in a bar?

Exactly, that's the whole point. The theme would get people to play pinball for the first time, and maybe, get them hooked. Don't we want more people playing pinball?

I don't think bars are where most of the pin sales are going. But I could be wrong, thinking that most are being sold to collectors and home owners with game rooms ... and possibly even having children ... who like to read HP!

I think HP would work in a bar. Maybe not a redneck bar. Maybe a bar that has people that read the first book that came out 13 years ago and liked it and are now of age to drink. A fun game is a fun game. The stories are pretty dark. I see it being designed more like LOTR than a CV.

Would IM perform better than HP in a bar? Maybe. But I think it depends on the bar. Would BBH do as well as HP in one of those kid party zones that are popping up everywhere? I dunno, probably not, but I'm not an OP and I haven't been to a bar in years. If I was going to bars regularly, I probably wouldn't be looking for a pinball machine.

A Tron machine would be cool and might be a purchase, but HP I wouldn't even think about getting.  Avatar I might have to see the game play. Some people were saying it's a rebadged Sopranos.  Too many rumors to speculate  .
