the only cafe has a dracula. city lights pizza has a old em pin. papa's billards might have some machines there as well. there is a couple collectors living there that i have meet. erin and i are kind of moving back there in the next month or two.
I haven't lived in Peterborough in a long time, but I'll tell you where we used to play.
Pappas Billiards on George St. will almost definately have one or two if they're still there. We used to be there a lot. Dean Pappas (pap-a$$) actually got to know us fairly well.
There is usually one at Wild Water and Wheels on Chemong Road if you get out that close to the boonies. I used to work there and we'd play when there were no customers or after/before our shift. Put in a lot of time on Addams Family and STTNG there. They usually have one of the newest top titles. Although it's changed ownership lately, I hear, so who knows.
The Only Cafe usually had one, but I didn't play there much.
When I was in university and coming back to town, there was a pool hall on the west side of George Street where Rockwells used to be. I think it's one block south of Charlotte. It may not be there though because the tennants in that area have been changing a lot since I've been gone.
Pappas Billiards is your best bet. There used to be a Mister Arcade on the East side of George street down around Charlotte too. I know the chain still exists, since there's one here in Ottawa, but I can't remember if it's still there in Ptbo.
Are you in Ottawa and from Ptbo? or moving there? I currently live in Ottawa.
forgot about wild water and wheels. use to go out there to play as well. lived in peterbourgh for over 15yrs and we are moving back. was just there last night hanging with the other pin-heads from back in the mister arcade days in peterbourgh. trenton had one of the first misters arcades and belleville i think still has one. well it maybe isn't called mister arcade anymore. but the spot besides jim pizza was always the mister arcade. i enjoy meeting up with others who have played in spots i have (back in the day). i can name most of the places i play from 1976 on. i was taken into bars and such back in 72 and on to see our dad play drums. just a little brat standing on a chair playing pitch and bats. that was back in north bay. trenton had loads of great arcades as well. did make it up to brockville area to play and only out ot toronto. now i travel far and enjoy playing at everybodys place. such nice machine in this group. can't wait to go to jims again. so many machines.....
also the em at city limits pizza is 300. great bowling theme game. its not working at the moment(sign on it). didn't see john(taught him how to throw pizzas) and it was closed till late night. or i would have went in and try to fix it.
didn't get to go into papa's but last time i was in there it was all vids. but they do change things up. will have to drop in there next week when wife is up at her doctors.
I use to go often to the one at corner of Montreal Rd. and St-Laurent, but that's been gone for well over a decade and is now a Mattress Mart !
Do tell...
Cheers, Steph
I think it's Bank at Alta Vista. In a little strip mall near a Loblaws (might be a Great Canadian Superstore or an indepandant). It's on the east side. South of local heros. There's a subway in that strip mall.
Gorydeath, if you were playing in arcades in '76 you must have about 10 years on me.
We couls rattle off several arcades that were in Peterborough but that probably won't help Jokker.... as fun as it would be.
Actually, the one that was in Landsdowne Place near the theatres holds some of my earliest memories of playing in arcades. You know the one that had that corner near the fountain, across from where the stairs came down.
....I have a funny story about ordering cheesecake at Jim's Pizza too, but it's not arcade related.

yep. landsdowne use to have some good machines. it changed alot and started carrying trading cards and such. brought in more kids and cash for the place. more stores should set machines up again. most of my earlier years of play are at the corner store BIG & LITTLE in trenton that had a couple pins and one vid at the most in a tiny room.
why? because i jiggle more then Meat Popsicle avatar? it will be down soon enough.
I wasn't too serious. It's just creepy. I've seen it on a couple of 3d graphics forums. I wish I could pinpoint it, but it just hits that creepiness nerve.... but I guess that is what makes it amusing.
...and on the topic so I don't derail too much, I wish I could have stayed longer, and that I could remember who posted what, so I could have talked to you, joker, about playing in Peterborough. I hope I'll have a better grasp on people's handles for next time.
