Seriously though, glad you were around to catch it in time and that nobody was hurt. Any idea how it happened? Here's hoping that it didn't cause too much damage.

Nah... just a dirty wall and ceiling. I washed it this morning. Odd thing is that the machine was plugged in but was turned off. Transformer bit the dust. The thing that also sucks is that I spent 60$ to have the boards fixed. Now they all stink!
Oh well... on the bright side, I have another MAME cab project!

Sorry...I cleaned it up already. Transformer is in the garbage (it stank). As for the game, yes, it is NARC, but c'mon... this is IN NO WAY Gory's fault and I will be pissed if he gets pointed. Bottom line is that the game is 20 years old. Period! And he practically gave it to me anyways! After I cleaned up, I thought it was actually pretty funny!
I will take a look later tonight to see what happened. I suspect a loose screw on the power switch that ended up bridging something. I have had it happen with another game 3 years ago. No damage then though.

Wow, that's scary...
I had never considered the possibility of that happening, but it adds one more reason why I'm glad all my game outlets are actually switched (...using X-10 remote control ) so that no power even gets to the game.

Good thing you were home. Did you smell smoke or were you actually in the room when it started burn ?
