I have a Recel Lady Luck that has no knocker and I would like to install one.I can't seem to get the proper one so I found one at Pinball Resource with the proper bracket but I need to know what the knocker voltage would be.Should I just test any of the coils on the machine and order a Gotlieb coil the same. The bracket that I found looks just like the original one but it is a Gotlieb part. The game just isn't as much fun without a knocker.

Hi Bob,

I'd say that replacement coil & bracket assembly is good to go,
although it will operate at a slightly higher voltage than the A-5195
coil is designed for:

- I checked on the schematics of a Gottlieb Abra-Ca-Dabra,
and that machine is using the same coil (A-5195) for its chimes.
The solenoid voltage for that game is 24V AC (at normal tap).
High-tap goes to around 30 volt I believe.

- If your Recel game is similar to the one I just finished fixing
for the gentleman in Kingston (a Recel 'The Fiery 30s'),
its solenoid voltage is selectable at the bottom of the cabinet
at either 28 or 30 volt, according to the fuse position.

Make sure that there is no diode across your replacement coil.

Good luck and Cheers!
- Sylvain.
P.S. I just received your Star Trek Bally MPU-35 for repairs. Thanks.

Looking for 1966 Bally Capersville, 1967 Bally The Wiggler, 1981 Stern Viper, 1986 Pinstar Gamatron,

Cash or some trades available. Could also repair a machine of yours +/-$ if needed, in exchange for
one machine on my want list, non-working/unshopped welcome!
