I figure that many of you buy pins on a 'style' more than a 'theme'... some pins are great although their movie stunk...
So, you own one or many 'movie theme' pins...but do you own the movie(s) that it is based on?
Although I've never watched it (yet), I did buy the BSD DVD a few months ago...just need to find the time to watch it!
I laso saw the Shadow on TV yestersday (in French...ARGH!!!) and I was impressed by the resemblance of some graphics on the DMD and playfield that matches the movie. I guess that movie is on my DVD 'want list' now...
...Oh! and before anyone says something about this: The Judge Dredd pinball machine is based on the COMIC STRIP...NOT THE (really bad) MOVIE!

Actually, I went through great pains to get a copy of the Flintstones movie on DVD. In the end I had to buy it as a Yabba-Dabba 2-Pack which also included The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas. Truth be told I didn't enjoy the movie in 92' and it isn't any better now. I won't even mention how bad Viva Rock Vegas is. However I didn't buy it for me. The purchase was made for one reason only, to spark my daughter's interest in the pin. She loves the movies and I've noticed that she now gets a bigger kick from it when she plays. Which for me is more important than if the game is considered an 'A' title or not. As long as the family enjoys playing it will stay in the collection.
It's probably a little too mature for her at the moment but I'm also looking for a copy of T2. I told the wife that I just want to make sure I'm prepared for the day when she is old enough to watch it... I just hope it's aged well and I still enjoy it, one 'Viva rock Vegas' in the movie collection is quite enough thank you.

Another Inane post brought to you by the good people of ACME Corp... Purveyors of the all-purpose Thread Killer.
Have the 12 DVD Box set (...which my wife and I have actually watched more than once ! ), and of course, the Pin.
There is no doubt that a strong link between the movies and the pin make for a much better package. You feel like you're "playing" the movie on the pin.
I also own the DVD sets for the following movies, but never owned the pin:
Star Wars ( both trilogies ) Back to the Future Indianna Jones Aliens Terminator
One pin I would have like to see would have been one based on my all-time favorite moive : The Matrix
The timing of this thread is pretty strange, as I just watched LAH last-night just to put into perspective the pin I have. Didn't really hate the movie but it really does not offer much in the way of entertainment.
Also own Starwars all versions except the original re-release. I was first in line to buy this version until I found it was only in stereo?????.. Even the original theatrical release in 70mm was 6 track. George.. what were you thinking.
Watched Tommy and realized I like the pin a whole lot more than the movie... music good.. movie very very bad.
Robocop.. own the movie.. yet to repair/refurb the pin.
I have the Back to the Future box set. The only other movie themed pin I have is Shadow and I haven't seen the movie yet.
Currently Owning: Vids- Road Blasters, Road Runner, Joust, Golden Tee 2005 Pins- Back to the Future, Theatre of Magic, Joker Poker, Grand Tour, Hyperball
Previously Owned: Vids- Far too many to list Pins- High Speedx2, The Shadow, Mystic.

WATCH IT!!!

I have the LOTR trilogy and Johnny Mnemonic movies.
LOTR I had way before the pin (also read the books in high school). I bought JM the movie after I got the pin; helped me understand the pin better. The movie was average at best; took me three attempts to watch it (kept falling asleep on it!!) BTW, it was filmed primarily in Canada (Toronto and Montreal). JM is another decent pin let down by the movie it's tied to.
Quote from Steph: One pin I would have like to see would have been one based on my all-time favorite moive : The Matrix
Well, this pin (JM) comes as close as you could ask for - including the star plastered all over the backglass.
Worst! Flintstones by far without a doubt, would insult even Phil's intelligence.
Didn't mind S, JM and BSD. Not great but not exactly horrible either. S I thought they tried to cover too much in a single film. JM really dates itself by trying to be cool for it's time and BSD just isn't frightening. Good horror is on B&W, has cheesy accents and looks gloomy.
