Open the coin door, Look on the right side in the machine you'll see a lever (probably yellow). Pull it to the left and hold it there (It's most likely spring loaded to the lock position). This unlocks the "lock bar" which is what holds the glass in place - it's also where you rest your palms when playing. Lift the lock bar to remove it, let go of the lever. Watch out the glass may start sliding out! Put the lock bar where you won't trip on it. Slide the glass out and put somewhere SAFE!
To reinstall, slide glass back in, put lock bar in position and move the lever left to let the lock bar pop in, push the lever back to the right to lock the lock bar. Somtimes it's hard to push right - that's ok. The lever has to be to the right for the coin door to close.

Also, do not put tempered Glass on concrete or tile floor. I am told it will shatter.
Bah Humbug. I do it all the time in the garage and never had a problem.

The older ones the rails and glass lift up together and can be propped or taken out when lifted and brought forward.
Well the question was for an Elvira pin - see top of thread..

With regard to Tempered glass. Tempered glass will shatter if it is impacted by a very sharp point (i.e. a lot of pressure on one small point of the glass), hence, if you put it down too quickly and tap a sharp corner, the whole thing could shatter. In practice however, (and if the edges are properly eased/sanded) then putting it down "gingerly" on concrete shouldn't pose a problem.
That, by the way, is why some people drive with an ice pick in their glove compartment or door compartments, in theory, if you drove off the road, into a lake, you could easily break the glass by hitting it with the pick, while you could hammer at it with your fists and feet for quite some time before it would give way.
The old system was much superior. You didn't need a whole machine length in front to pull the glass and when you put it down it had a frame around it protecting it.
??? "Removing Playfield Glass" my Jedi mind powers must be weaker than yours today.
