With that said I think I agree, Elvis will need to come when I have more space.
One last Question
IM or TSPP?
Current Lineup: Black Knight, Riverboat Gambler, Ripley's Believe it or Not, Flintstones, Orbitor 1, Wipe Out, Breakshot, The Simpsons Pinball Party, Fish Tales, Eight Ball and a 60 in 1 Cocktail.
interesting comparison now. IM or TSSP. Word on the street...because I own neither but have played both....is that TSSP has the staying power and desirability...so I'd give TSSP the edge here too.

IM follows Gary Stern's new direction in that it is somewhat sparse on the playfield and has only 1 toy, the rest of it being generic pinball parts. It is one of the better of recent Sterns, but TSPP is still packed with so much more staying power and content.
Can't speak for Elvis (He's still pumping gas at my local 7-11...true story)
I'm the owner of an NIB TSSP. I got it in March of this year...It's the machine I spend the most time with... And to be quite honest... it's the most popular machine when friends and family come over. The STTNG fans play one or two games...then move and fight over TSSP. In the mean time, RFM and IJ mope in their respective corners...
Guess the question is what do you want in a machine. If you like quick exciting games that will end quickly get IM. IM is great for 4 players since they usally don't have to wait long to play thier turn. Gets the blood pumping and keeps you awake Background music fits great for the excitement If you like to sit back and think of your next shot and get deep in a game TSPP is the game for you. You don't get the same excitement but you can work on getting more things done in TSPP More chances to stop and rethink what to do next. I have both so I can play to what mood I'm in .
I love Elvis. It's an absolutely amazing game. For those that are saying it isn't good. Have you actually played it? It's such a fun pin. I've wanted one since playing ME's. Love it.
Now TSPP or IM? Wow! Tough call. Dramatically different games. One is stop and go and one is total flow.
I would think a better comparison would be Spiderman or IM. They are alike than TSPP vs either one.
It really comes down to what type of game play you like: flow or stop and go. Personally I think TSPP is a better game. It's deeper and has a lot going on. It's not a flow game, though.

I haven't played alot of IM but I have played some and for me TSPP and SM are in a league (along with LOTR) above IM. So for me it is TSPP ahead of IM in an easy race ... (and for interest sake SM over TSPP in a much closer race)
Centigrade 37 ... LOTR in da House ... a Barracora ....... Spidey ... RFM
I played a bunch on Monday and while fun to play, I didn't find anything that really hooked me into the game. From what I can tell from my limited time playing it is there are no stacking opportunities which I think is a real shame, also I found that it felt like I was doing the same thing over and over. By that I mean Shot Iron Monger X number of times to start Iron Monger Multiball, Shoot whiplash X number of times to start whiplash, shoot standup targets X number of times to start war machine. It felt in a way kind of repetitive. Fun to play while doing it yes, but repetitive all the same. I need to spend more time with it to formulate a full opinion, right now I'm loving the layout, very fast, very hard, and having fun while playing, but still figuring out if there is some depth that I'm missing.
That being said, really it doesn't hold a candle to TSPP. TSPP is just such an amazing and well put together game with a great combination of unique layout, toys and rule set.
It took me some time to find the love for TSPP as Duane can attest to. Once I had the opportunity to spend some time on it (thanks to Medvet) I understood what the others meant. TSPP to me is a completely different game from IM but if you are makig us choose, I choose TSPP. Deep game. Attracts different people for different reasons. Solid game.

I'm pretty sure you can stack the MBs provide you do it in the right order -- sort of like CV. I believe you have to have the Iron Monger up and start War Machine MB. You can then start Iron Monger as well.
Might be a simple game, but it is damn addictive. I love it.
Simple, doesn't mean it isn't fun. Look at GetAway. A classic. Yet very, very basic in terms of rules. Sometimes less is more.
I think Stern has really nailed one out of the park with IM. My .02. But I agree TSPP, LOTR, and Spidey are better games.
Well TSPP was the decision and is purchased. My first NIB pinball will arrive by the end of the month. On the 29th I will also be getting a Fish Tales. Shortly after I will be getting Eight Ball from Sparky (Completely restored Cab) to go with my repro playfield backglass and plastics, Once the swap is done this should be an amazing example. Lastly Sparky will be bringing me a custom 60 in 1. The fun I will have over the next month!
