I personally have no problem paying for insurance I understand why it is needed.

My problem with insurance companies is the fact that when it comes time to pay up and you actually need the insurance, they will find any technicality, any little thing in order to not pay out the claim.  That is my biggest pet peve with insurance companies, not the fact that I'm paying the premeium, more that even after years of paying the premeium they won't even be there when I do need them.

I think many Insurance COMPANIES are borderline crooks.  They do provide a service, no doubt, but many of them aren't in it for the service to the community.  On the issue of payments versus claim ratio, that is true but it IS a fact their bad investments have a lot to do with this situation, rather than any improper claims. What do you think, Stan's 50% increase in premium's reflects the market from the past couple of year?  2 years ago, these insurance companies were turning a profit but now what a coincidence that the economic "downturn" coincides with the increase???

Don't take my initial comment personal heinekenlvr, I worked for CRA for 19 years. I never did anything relevant to taxes (I worked in IT) but that didn't stop the average joe from giving me the death stare when they heard where I worked.  It's just an opinion directed to the corporation, not the foot soldiers.  I'm sure you, like most other Insurance Agents do your job well but let's face it, no matter how you do your job, you're seen an a necessary evil, along with politicians where everyone has to provide money but we don't always see the service.  That's ok, they are necessary.
