The funny thing is, this clone has a page warning people of clones of the clone. I'm so confused

Problem with most clones with things like this, is they tend to be VERY low quality in comparison and problematic.
100% agree. Just bought 4 of the R4-iii's - http://www.r4dsl.net. What a waste of money! Very tempermental cards, got them working, then they stop working, moonshell barely works (must use an old 1.6 version, skins work if you are luck, poor DLDI support - although they claim it...)
I love the Cylco DS - 4X the price, but works 100% of the time with everything - and constant updates.
Although a little pricier, I've had my M3 Real for over a year now with no problems.. I'll be doing another software update soon. Very versatile little device, definitely one purchase I don't regret.
Own Magic, Star Gazer, Batman Forever, STTNG, Mystery Castle (project)
Gone Fairy, Secret Service, Meteor x3, Title Fight, Eight Ball Deluxe, Bone Busters Inc., Seawitch, Starship Troopers, Strange Science, Arena, Hook, Pin*Bot x2, Time Warp, Motordome, Robocop, Black hole, Jurassic Park , Wipe-Out, Pinball Pro: Challenger I, Swords of Fury, Stargate, Party Zone
I've been using the M3 Real with rumble pack for the DS. I have 6 out there with nieces, nephews and friends. , Work great, easy interface and cheap (under $30) from kickgaming.com. Also made the mistake of buying the GH interface for the DS. While not as fun as Rockband unplugged on the PSP, still pretty good.
ME
And it's all Tuborgs fault for introducing me to the DS card system . Now have a 1 T hard drive full of DS, PSP and Wii games and the laptop runs continuously for torrents .
Looks like I wasted $$$ on the clones - but they play the games fine - just not any multimedia.
ME - Can you still get PSP's that are "pandora's boxable"? Daddy wants a toy - Congrats on being the 1st OPL champ, too. My money was on tinyrodent....

If you end up getting an older one and need a pandora battery and extra memory card - I have both that you can borrow. Also LOTS of PSP games you can burn to your hard drive. The PSP and DS rotate in popularity in our house lately - depends on what games and who gets to their favourite first (me or Seb)
Tuborg, but what if you only care about playing games on the DS? Did the card you buy do that well? That's all I use my R4 clone for, and it works just great.

Yeah, it seems to work fine for playing games - which is fine / good. The challenge, is with kids, if kid-a has the ability to show a Hannah Montana skin and play the latest video, then you have to make sure all the kids can do it...
So yeah - R4 III works for the games - no problem there (since reading I've heard wifi games might be a challenge - but I never turn wifi on - as I don't like the security the NDS supports). For $11 not a total loss, just I think its worth the extra $$$ to get a good card. I think I can get it working (just gotta get an older version of moonshell and maybe down-convert the ID3 tags on the music files (another night of tinkering might have them working with media).
I don't think wifi is ever a problem with these things. Usually the problem is with 'download play'. That's where one DS has the game, and the other does not. Also, you don't use 'wifi' to play multiplayer if both players are in the same room, they connect directly to each other and don't use your router, so encryption isn't used.

You're right jonny. Either way - I don't do either so no big deal.
I might have found one issue - I got 8GB cards thinking when the cards says SDHC compatible it was fully compatible. But the card's documentation mentions 4GB maximum. That could explain some of the odd symptoms I was seeing when I loaded the card up. Directories were no longer readable and were gibberish. I thought it was an ID3 tag version problem - but now I'm off to buy smaller microSD cards....
Does anyone have experience with the M3 Real with regards to moonshell. moonshell 1.7 & 2.0 (2.0 is great in case you haven't tried it - at least on the cyclo)...
Seems the kids like/love the music / movie playing - and therefore, I'm stuck providing it. Actually, moonshell is great for long summer car rides....
