He only owns half the rights, the others being owned by Gene Cunningham of the Illinois Pinball Company.
At expo, the Nucore guys were saying Wayne wouldn't even negotiate with them until he found out Gene might own some of the P2K patents. Then he was all over them to make a deal with him.
I think, as it turned out, Gene's patents were slightly newer than Wayne's.
In any case, Wayne only has only negotiated use of the patents for a 5 year period, largely funded by the Australian Gov't. I think his lease is up in 2010.

I agree. But the last time I emailed him, it was to ask about the announced price of MM at $9999.00 U.S. and he answered that those with a down payment will paying 5000$. I must agree that this letter discourages me quite a bit to buy any other game from him, but I still think that the guy has no choice to fill in his part of the contract. If he does'nt, imagine, 1000 people giving 2500$ each= 2,500,000$ of fraud. Now, would that be the biggest scam in pinball history?

Nope. You are right. March 2010 I believe is the deadline. I will be watching what happens then... Wayne will most probably not renew (I am sure WMS is looking at the situation, watching their name get dragged through the mud...), and let's not kid ourselves, Gene has been sitting on all the Williams factory pallets for years and he isn't getting any younger. I don't think anyone will renew the rights. And if someone does, I sincerely hope someone will pick it ALL up and do something with it, if only to supply parts and license out to current distributors at a reasonable rate. It would save a lot of hassle. As of now, anyone considering to reproduce any part is in for a lot of headaches... who owns what, and will they cooperate. Gene has been good so far, compared to Wayne, but that is just based on what I see.
I will have a good idea on how Wayne deals soon... I bought 2 translites from him almost 3 weeks ago. Let's see if I get them...
Why would he need their money? According to the email he was wealthier than Bill Gates and he has 2.5 Mil in others peoples money that he is holding onto for safe keeping.
How'd he get the Aussie gov't to foot the bill? Can I get the Canadian gov't to foot the bill for me in 2010?
