Well yesterday i had accident. I was removing snow from snow backs and there was a fare bit of ice. so grabbed with 2 hands and slammed into it. Well somebody decided to dump a brick in there. so when i slammed in there instant pain. Hand is maybe broke again had a hairline fracture 4 years ago same hand same pain. but could be a crushed nerve or pitch what ever all i know is hurts and hand is really swollen. So i go to the hospitall wait 15 hours never one doctor or xray. I ask whst wait could be like i figure not to long anser maybe 6 hours but if more emergencies come in maybe longer. I am in pain i said F this try buckinham tomorrow heard there fast i hope

Man, sorry to hear about that. I hope things go better for you at the hospital tomorrow.
I thought Ontario emergency rooms were bad. I've had to wait hours to get a simple eye infection looked at (we were out of town and it was pouring out of my middle son's eye), but 15 hours with nothing is a record!
That sucks! I don't know which political party to vote for as they all yap about health care and never deliver. Sure its expensive, but everybody needs it at some point in their lives; except well maybe the politicians where they get to approve their salaries and pensions...; sorry shouldn't yap politics on a pinball forum - but "health care" is my sore point. Politicians have been whittling away at health care for years, its gonna get worse before we're done I'm afraid.
Hey ethous... sorry to hear about that, but here is some advice... drive an hour or so and go to a regional hospital in a small town. My example:
My son was sick last year (stomach flu... yummy) and we had to go to the emergency ward. I live in Saint-Lazare and that puts me smack dab in between 2 hospitals... Lakeshore Hospital in the western part of Montreal, and Valleyfield Hospital, 30 minutes west (where my kids were born).
...I went to neither.
I know for a fact that Lakeshore's average wait is 14 hours (I lived near there as a kid...). Valleyfield was at about 8 hours when I called... so I drove an hour and went to a small hospital in Ormstown on the south shore of Montreal. My wait... 10 minutes!!!! My wife works as a respiratory therapist and knows the system... it is ALWAYS best to drive out of town and go to a smalltown hospital for such injuries. Take a 1-2 hour drive, and save yourself 12+ hours in all. Large hospitals are good for really serious injuries or illnesses... but the problem is that 95% of people go there for things like a bad headache, instead of visiting a local clinic.
And hang on to your hats, people... it's gonna get worse... Baby-boomers are getting up in age and will be swamping hospitals soon. And the government's stance on it is cold, but business-wise very logical... why invest a huge fortune in the health system to eliminate all waits when 20 years down the line, the baby-boomers, largest segment of population, will be dropping like flies...they would end up with the opposite problem then... paying people for doing nothing.

Geez... I took my daughter to the hospital a couple of times last year and never waited more than 30 minutes to see a doctor. And that's at the busy hospital! In fact, I don't think I've ever waited more than an hour for care in an emergency room... ever.
Like it or not, I'll take our universal health care system over the US system any friggin' day of the week. It's far from perfect, but at least nobody in Canada goes bankrupt due to medical bills or dies while fighting with their HMO for coverage.

Like I said... cold... but it is the truth.

Always hate to hear when someone gets hurt (our bodies are so fragile/precious). Hope that you get the right attention and that it is not too serious.

I hate to tell ya, Ethous, but that happens all over Canada, not just Quebec. Generally, like these guys have said, drive to the remote hospitals.. and go at night. it's your best bet.

Well I decided to go to Wakefield and still waited 5 hours but got results. Hand is not busted well sort of not broke. Broke main blood vein in the hand pinched 3 nerves in the hand. Thus the reason so painful.

So, the important question: How long will you not be able to play pinball?

the key is having a MASSIVE ACCIDENT that severs your arm or something. That'll get you some pretty spiffy fast treatment! So next time, after you break your hand, use the good arm to chop off the hurt one!
I know what you mean though, went thru the same thing with my gf over a sore foot that she thought was broken. Took forever. At least on the plus side of things, you guys have equipment up there that we cannot afford in Nova Scotia (found this out recently regarding my GF's mom - for example, we have gamma cameras (low res) but no PET scanner (high res); gotta fly up to quebec if you have lung cancer to get the scan done, and it takes about a month or more to arrange the appointment. Meanwhile, the cancer is probably spreading. yay!)
