These prices are close to what I paid for the pinball machines and are pretty firm as I am trying to sell them for about what I paid. If they don’t sell by September or you buy three or four of them then I can give you a deal. I hope that some will sell before then.
+++++ Pinball +++++
I took a close look at the machines and all playfields are actually pretty good in my opinion. Most of the ones I see posted are way worse than these. There are no real bad wear spots that I can see. Embryon has a playfield repair in one spot that you will notice if you look but it turned out quite nicely and I never notice it when playing.
Embryon ($1100):SOLD
This was original bought from Sylvain (Kanata) who is considered one of the best pinball mechanics around. The machine has been well taken care of and has no major issues.
Lost World($800):SOLD
This was also bought from Sylvain (Kanata). Backglass and playfield are very nice. Cabinet is fair.
Bobby Orr ($1200):
Not sure when it will be available for testing so just PM me and I will let you know when the repairs are done.
This one is hard to let go because it is Bobby Orr, a hockey legend. This game may eventually go up in value while others fall. This was originally bought from jvegas. Some of the boards are currently being repaired by Sylvain to make the machine more reliable. I can wait until it is working before selling it. The playfield is very nice, the backglass has a chip in the corner (hard to notice) and a scratch on Bobby Orr’s head but it isn’t horrible. To really get the most from the game, the cabinet should be restored as there are chips here and there. Some of the targets are non-standard for the game.
World Poker Tour ($2400):
This was bought from jvegas. It is a HUO with the latest ROMs installed at the time of purchase. It plays flawlessly. I need to wax the playfield with Novus but it looks and plays brand new once that is done. There is a nick under one of the legs that is visible but can probably be fixed nicely with a black marker as there is no art on damaged area (price reduced by $300 because of this).
All machines have keys, and probably coin boxes and manuals.
+++++ Other +++++
4.5 by 9 Brunswick Pool Table with accessories including overhead lights, cues, snooker balls, eight ball set = $1200
This table was originally in a pool hall in Blackburn Hamlet. It is an 8 ball table with pockets that are wider than on a snooker table. Photo pending.
Foosball = $400
This is absolutely mint and barely used, please check reviews and prices for “Sportcraft Arena Foosballâ€. I will post a stock photo (not mine) but there is not a scratch on it and it comes with a cover.
Dart Board and Cabinet = make an offer
1997 Chevy Venture, 140k km[/b] ($800):SOLD *one heck of a good deal to a single mother with a bunch of kids, a job and school (the winter tires were worth more than the price it was sold for.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
You will need to pick up locally in Ottawa (Riverside South area). Foosball and pool table will need to be disassembled (professionals can do the pool table, not sure cost but maybe $200 or so).
I will respond to emails, PMs and posts during the week. I may not get to them same day.
Thanks for looking,
Al Drake (drakea@rogers.com)

Embryon has been sold. I truly believe the buyer got a very good deal given the quality of playfield, backglass, and mechanics.
Bobby Orr has been improved and repaired and I will play it for a few days to make sure it is working. So far it plays flawlessly. The playfield is nice overall but not perfect, I would say that cosmetically it is fair because of a few flaws in the backglass and cabinet. It is Bobby Orr so probably worth something as investment and fun enough to play.
Repairs included (as per email from pinball mechanic):
- the two bad transistors are now replaced (Q3 & Q7);
- one burned trace (related to the knocker) repaired with a wire.
- the high voltage regulator circuit needs to be rebuild: 3 bad transistors and one burned resistor (the displays were probably operating at full +240V instead of regulated +180-190, e.g. would not have lasted long).
- Repairs on the Solenoid Driver board completed. (incl. high-voltage section: its 3 transistors and the resistor). Also had to replace the +5V regulator, was only outputting +4.89 instead of +5. New one output +5.07, much better. High voltage also adjusted to +175. Displays will last longer. Also added two wires (subset of mods from pinrepair.com).
- MPU: 7 chip sockets replaced. Performed small ground mod.
- new chime and a few other things that I cant recall
All machines have had expressions of interest so please come by and look at them if you are interested. First come, first served. Machines are sold as is.

Sorry MrNice, I hope you are not bitter or anything. I did the best that I could for the pics. You have to trust me about the playfields until I can get my photographer to take some more. I realize it is not convenient for everyone to travel to view the games that is why I posted that I live in Riverside South/Ottawa. I would prefer a local buyer who can assess the game in person anyhow but if I get more pics, I will post them.
i am totally open about the games. The only one that lacks cosmetically is Bobby Orr and it is not horrible.
Playfields:
Lost World = quite good, I am charging an appropriate price because of the nice playfield and backglass. Cabinet is the worst part of the machine but not horrible. I have seen them for $500 but I would definitely pay extra for this one when comparing. I will double check what I paid and see if I can drop the price $50 as I did for Embryon.
WPT = excellent all around except a big ding on the leg which I may hide with a black permanent pen (any objections, speak up and I will not touch it up myself!)
Bobby Orr = very good playfield except one flaw. I never noticed this before because it is behind the bumper and you cannot see it when playing. It is easily visible from the side and likely caused by the ball coming out of the pop-out hole. Cabinet should be redone (maybe Sparky?), backglass has some flaws.
I will not be able to show the games this weekend.

I am not getting over anxious but someone take a look so I don't have to post on Kijiji and Craig's list.
FYI: someone else has one posted on MAACA which is listed much cheaper ($450 as of today I believe). I probably should increase my price to help the other sale and get fair value for mine.

I brought travelthisyear@canada.com's Bobby Orr home to perform further troubleshooting. Good challenge All boards work perfectly here at home in another machine, but they drive very weak solenoids in his game (even after repinning quite a few pins and reflowing header pins on the sol.driver & rectifier board). Voltage measurements and grounds are fine. Bridge rectifiers are fine. Fuses are fine. Issue is intermittent.
Something appears to cause corruption on the MPU solenoid drive lines out to the solenoid driver inputs, or on the switch matrix. Will check again the wiring/harnesses under the playfield & will post again once found/fixed...
Cheers, - Sylvain.
Looking for 1966 Bally Capersville, 1967 Bally The Wiggler, 1981 Stern Viper, 1986 Pinstar Gamatron, 1986 Williams Grand Lizard, 1991 Williams Bride of Pinbot, and a few others. Cash or some trades available. Could also repair a machine of yours +/-$ if needed, in exchange for one machine on my want list, non-working/unshopped welcome!
I'm sure you'll track down the problem. Let me know if you need some help.
But on a more serious note, if nothing appears obvious ( grounding problem or bad wire ) then you might have to resort to replacing diodes on switches that you swear should have nothing to do with the problem. Maybe that's just a newbie approach, but let's hope it doesn't come to that.
** Any single diode coils that should be two-diode ?** That caused me fits with my EBD.
