I was just wandering what are the fun or better pins to buy. I now have a Soprano and a playboy , but they seem to get boring pretty quick. I was thinking about buying a Nascar but i read a lot of bad stuff about stern and i dont know how to fix pins, so i am looking for some suggestions. Thanks for your help |

Paul new doesnt mean better if you notice alot of the most wanted machines are the older Williams/Bally machines. the reason for that is usually based on the individual, but for the most part is quality, challenging rule set and exciting game play. if you dont have the experience in alot of games coming to the meeting will help for sure. get yourself set up with pinmame no it isnt exact feeling of the game but gives you a good idea of the sounds, rule set, and a small taste of what it could be like.
Just my 2¢

I would suggest looking at some of the last generation of machines that came out of the 90's. The rule sets are generally deeper so they have more lasting value for home use. If you go to ipdb.org and look at the rule sheets for games you will get a better understanding of how deep a game is.
The other aspect to look for is flow and tempo. Some games are not as deep but are challenging due to the pace they set. Games made by Ritchie tend to be of this genre.
I like a balance of both in my collection. Fast ones and deep ones. Gives you some variety of gameplay. |

I would suggest you go to a show ( or a few maaca meeting ) and play machines from ALL ERA. the 50's, the 60's, the 70's, the 80's and the 90's.
They are all fun to play ! you just have to give them a try and see which one rings your bell ! rulesets don't mean squat ! THE BALL IS WILD !

He's in New Brunswick. You might be better served to drive 3hrs to Halifax and hit the community up there for some machines to try. One of the young guys from Halifax Pinball has a very impressive collection of personal machines. Maybe they can steer you to a group a little closer. All fun to play eh? Are you now saying you like F-14? |

Halifax is alot closer for sure. I seen some things on ebay in the past from the Halifax pinball company. I like any machines really as long they are in good shape. There doesnt seem to be too many places around here that sell pins. |

I'm saying that there are fun pinballs outside the ones from your collection You need to try them and see what you like. EMs are fun too! sure it's not the same gameplay as the ones from the 90's but they do require a whole different skill set. I tried F-14 and I don't like it. You try it and you like it? that's good that's why there are so many different models. some please certain people while others do not. I find F-14 to be very shallow and to not have enough things to shot for. The upper flippers even less things to shoot for. on the good side, this thing is THE flasher king! (and that's it!) |

Ah come on mrhide. You are just tired of losing on F-14. The boys have told me that the ball is just too fast for your reflexes. You might want to take up shuffle board instead. |
