I think it's great to see what's available, but i have to click on the topic to find out that it's in California.

If you are going to continue with it, maybe a location in the topic? that way we know that hey it's in california, no F'in way i'm going after that thing,

Hmmm... funny... if you claim that the poll doesn't make up your mind for you, why do it? If you do something (regardless what it is) when no one at all want you to do it, then still doing it does not put you in an appreciated position.

It's like wanting to fart in an elevator... you know you want to just let go and do it, but no one esle in there wants you to. when you still do it, do you honestly expect anyone to like you?

So in thes context, knowing full well that no one wants you to post such things, either you are trying to be overly helpful, or you are just stubborn and just out to provoke people and make yourself feel good about it.

I would recommend to keep the posts to yourself... that way, if you DO find an incedible deal and buy it, THEN post about it and brag!!! You would have every right to...

Or, how about you take a list of those people that were in favour of these posts, and just send them a PM when you find something? They're clearly in the minority according to this poll.

As I suggested in the classified maintanance area, perhaps we could separte outside ads into a new subcategory.  It's a thought.  I have no idea how easy this would be.  I do think it would be beneficial to keep only members ads in the 'pinballs for sale' or 'arcade machines for sale' or 'mame for sale' categories.  

The only reason I ask to keep outside ads in the classifieds is that it seems that some of you have better search engines than mine.  I know that a few of you have mastered RSS feeds and the filters that you need in place to keep it all simple.  There has been lots of stuff posted that I never would have found if it wasn't for the links that others were kind enough to share.  Remember too that one man's treasure is another man's project pin that may seem like it is way beyond any hope of fixing.

   just post it in the macca section for anything goes and then there shouldn't be any issues.  i posted about old punk rock.  so i can't see why anyone would have a issue for it being posted in that section since its anything goes.

I like the referendum approach.  Can we vote on other issues too ?  

Hey, I just noticed that the MAACA Forum and Chat section has the sub-title  "Talk about anything that you would like."

Looks to me that this poll is moot since this forum allows for everything and anything...even stupid, crappy pin deals from stupid, crappy, far-away places.

This poll needs to be clarified for those that haven't read the other thread.

The reason this poll was created was because a member was posting Craigslist and Kijiji ads from all over North America multiple times a day. Oklamhoma, Georgia, California, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Alaska, etc. A discussion began in a separate thread which questioned whether these types of posts were reasonable on maaca.

So really, the question would be better if it read "Are you in favour of having a large amount of "outside" ads from all over the world posted on maaca? Or would you rather that only those "outside" ads that are of potential genuine interest to Maaca's membership be posted?"

Now, one would have to assume that members would be able to use common sense, reason and better judgment when determining if an "outside" ad is of potential genuine interest to the membership, but I really don't think that would be difficult. At least, it was never that difficult before last week.

I'm sure that once Aljo gets his computer fixed, we'll see reason and sensibility in this regard disappear once again.   (That's a joke, Claude. Don't get all mad at me.)

My computer makes it very hard for me to even go on MAACA now a days.

I've decided not to post any Craigslists ads anymore....My first intention was to help other members get good deals on pins, but since this posting does about the opposite affect (they only hate more for it), I'll just keep them for myself.
I know some members would like me to continue....just send me a PM and I'll try to work something out by sending you guys personally these ads by PM.

I voted yes.  I want lots of information on what's available.

Like I said before though - would be nice if ALL main posts had the city posted in the subject even the local ones.
