ok there is some goofiness with explorer not sure if it is a recent update from Microsoft but people cant log in. to relieve the problem you have to go to privacy and set it to low then try or use firefox or chrome it is a problem with explorer only.

No problems with Explorer 7 and VISTA with Medium (default) settings.  Rather than lower your entire Security settings, you would be better off making s107351202.onlinehome.us a "Trusted Site" and using lower security settings there (if it is your only choice).  I noticed that the site went from being buggy early in the week to better in the last two days, so I am suspecting some behind the scenes work has been going on.

P.S. JD3 - if we ever want to move maaca.org solely to its own hosting domain, let me know as I'd provide free hosting, email and CP access (HSPHERE) on a UNIX server (or Windows if necessary).

ok here goes.

I made a change and waited to see if there was any issues since I did not have any whatsoever..

The only thing I changed was to replace s107351202.onlinehome.us with maaca.org within the board directories and such.
Because of this some of you might have had to log on again if you come from the maaca.org or .net. The reason you might have had to log in again is because the cookies were set to s107351202.onlinehome.us and are now maaca.org so your computers may not have recognized the site.

Others may have to set their Explorer settings to accept maaca.org instead of/ or including s107351202.onlinehome.us since they are the same site anyway.

Also, when you are browsing, the url window of your browser should now only show maaca.org without and of the  other directory folders and files. as in "cgi-bin/Blah/Blah.pl?m-1221830405/s-new/".

so to clean everything up I suggest clearing your cookies of everything maaca and starting fresh. This means erasing s107351202.onlinehome.us and maaca.org and maaca.net from your list of cookies and any bookmarks you may have regardless of which browser you are using. Then go to the site using only http://maaca.org and log in again. Once that is done, you may re-bookmark the site at the portal or home page, whatever your preference would be.

Just noticed that there are some instances that still show the directories so ignore that part of  what I said.

Everything seemed to be working just fine with the old URLs using Opera. However when I tried switching over to maaca.org it caused a lot of problems. Links on the site are not consistent, sometimes pointing to maaca.org, sometimes maaca.net, and sometimes onlinehome.us. Until this is cleaned up I don't think it will behave properly. Right now the ugliest problem is that "Refresh" on the portal redirects to the "home page".

Which leads me to ask, what is the point of the "home page" which redirects after 5 seconds? Why not just go directly there?

More problems I noticed along the way...

1. Passwords are limited to 8 characters. Fine, but there is no warning when it is set, and when you try to login it's not limited to 8. So I chose one which is 9 characters, then could not understand why login failed until later when the notification email arrived showing the new password in clear text (seems not very secure...).

2. All the notification emails come with mangled French characters similar to the wrong character set assignment as I reported earlier for the forum pages.

Y'all can stop complaining now, it's back the way it was with s107351202.onlinehome.us. ALthough I don't know what is wrong with the smilies.

French characters are an issue with past posts and other previous forum stuff and need to be fixed manually as I had mentioned before. There was some sort of screw up in the upgrade.
