If someone actually went through the trouble of adding up their 'nickels and dimes' in CT money, why would anyone want to sell it for 50 cents on the dollar after-the-fact? Go spend it. There's always something that someone needs at CT.

I'd like to know if anyone fell for this too.

You can't buy groceries at CT

Bell was offering 50% value of competitors' gift cards towards store credit a few Christmases ago.. that's worse, IMO.

Or so you think....

http://www.thestar.com/business/article/596754

Not to mention that I believe that CT has won the bid for the new service stations along the 401 corridor.

I've seen these ads for some time, a good idea, but not worth the hassle in my mind.  If you have the time however sitting outside a store and offering that amount to people as they come out might work better than the ad on-line.  More work though.

I have the master card CT option and i pay everything with it . Grocery , dentist , city tax and so on . I became elite customer last year . It ' s amazing how fast it cumulates now , over $300 a year anyway . I also found a way to spend it else where . For instance , we got a new $650 computer 2 months ago and CT financed $316 of it . What ' s the trick ? quite simple . I had that $316 of CT money cumulated on my MC option card . I went in and bought a $349.99 bicycle , brought it back the day after , saying that my wife didn ' t want it . So , what they do , they credit it on your credit card and it ' s instantly tranformed in $$$ you can spend anywhere you want to ...

Ho ya ! I remember seeing a flash on TV about this guy who ' s in the guiness records . He had a suitcase ful of CT $$$ . Some $5,000 , i think ...

They already are, I've got the CT Mastercard, every purchase I get CT Money, it's the best free rewards card I've ever had, I've gotten like $400 or more in CT money just from making the same everyday purchases I was going to be making anyway.  I never even see the paper CT money anymore.

Actually that wouldn't work.  CT money is printed the same way real money is and on the same paper.  Photocopiers have built in copy protection and won't copy it.  You'll just get a streak or a pattern instead of the bill.

CT is always TWICE the price then anywhere else.  So in doing this you’re just breaking even.  CT has terrible return polices and I only shop there ONLY if I have to.  And I do have their Master card also.  Why do you think they can mark down on sale tools by half and sometimes 2/3?  I only shop out of the flyer.

Here is an example
Looking for a 12 point tool set.  They only had their professional line with these.  The sales person informed me if I was using their professional set ‘professionally’ that the lifetime warranty is null and void Dunno).

Twice the price? Dunno about that, like anywhere else, I try and wait for the sales and usually do well. Picked up 4 2-door cabinets a few months ago, they were dirt cheap!

On the counterfeit thing, its obviously not an option and I'm not suggesting anyone try it, just curious if anyone has..  I'm thinking that the costs of printing them would negate it being worth while; aren't CT money usually small denominations? (do they actually have any $20 CT money?).

Thats my point if you buy it on sale you can do ok.  But if you buy when it's not on sale you get it good .

On the topic of counerfeiting..

I saw an episode of Dateline last year where they were running a dragnet operation for stolen goods. One guy they caught was selling "real" counterfeit $100.00 bills. They actually got a hidden camera in while he was demonstrating his technique. He was taking a US $5 bill, putting it through chemicals and scrubbing off all the ink, leaving a dirty looking blank. He then ran the paper through a good quality colour inkjet printer on both sides and "voila", it's now a $100.00 bill on the proper silk paper.

Then, he was selling those at a discount.

They already are, I've got the CT Mastercard, every purchase I get CT Money, it's the best free rewards card I've ever had, I've gotten like $400 or more in CT money just from making the same everyday purchases I was going to be making anyway.  I never even see the paper CT money anymore.

Yap ! On top of it , you get airmiles rewards / petro-canada / eko or what ever other places that has some kind of reward program ... 2 in 1 deal . Also , if you read my previous coment above , you ' ll be able to spend it anywhere you like ...

Did you actually tried to copy the CT money?

No, but I guarantee it will not work.  Try it!  It's not like the RCMP will be at your door if you do

It would've been much easier to just buy the paper.. paper mills will sell it, no problem.  It's called "banknote" paper.  It's what CT money is printed on

We've bought it before here at my work to print some "fake bill"-like coupons on.  Looks and feels just like the real thing

To the best of my knowledge a $2 bill is the highest CT denom

For buy and sell use of forum members only? One Maaca doller being .90CAD or something, to entice people to buy them and then use them within the community?

In high school there was a place here called The Eagles Nest.  Had pool, snooker, pins, vids and took CT money at par.  I always gas up at CT but get the x7 or x10 coupon first.  It ads up.  Twice now the wife and I have bought snow tires and rims for her new car.  Free money.  Gotta love it .

Speaking of Stephen Anderson/Mark Uttley, he just tried to buy a pin off of me using the alias "jim" of "Northstar cable" he offered me cash or trades and then vanished. TOPL helped me sort out that it was him. Still have no idea why he bothered to contact me...
