tspp hands down any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Totan doesn't even hold a canlde to SPP on any level other then prsentation.  SPP has better play, better layout, better modes, better theme integration, better depth, 110% a better game.

As much as I am not a Stern fan, I must agree with Adam, that TSPP is a deeper game. BUT i would still buy a TOTAN over TSPP, only because that is my preference. A nice TOTAN sells in the $3-3500 range, which is in the same range of TSPP. So in the end I would say it comes down to personal preference.

There really is no contest. TSPP wins. MUCH better game than ToTAN on every level. Unless you are Glen or Enzo who NEED Williams titles to feel their collection is proper   , go for the TSPP.

I have had 4 Stern's in the last 3 years, sold them all like the other pins I did not like and when Stern makes a pin that I like, I will keep it in the collection. The Simpsons to me are annoying, so TSPP will never be part of my collection, but I would buy a LOTR, but the opportunity has not presented itself. So I would not say there is a NEED, but it is my personal preference, let Stern make a game that I like and I will buy it.

Don't compare Montreal market to anything else on the planet.

80's fan had to be in a hard spot to let it go for that money. He also was unwilling to move it anywhere himself, so he was completely limited to the Montreal market with the exception of insane collectors like me that would and did do a round trip from Toronto to get it.

To me I think you will get more pleasure out of owning TOTAN from a collectors standpoint. It's a beautiful game and again I think you will have pride in owning it, not to mention the gameplay is unique. When the initial fun of any new game wears off, it is the pride of having it in your collection that will make you keep it. I don't know if TSPP is any more fun than TOTAN. It might be fun to play with but is it worth investing that kind of money into a game that probably is going to depreciate for awhile? You really got to like it to knowingly watch it go down on your gameroom floor.

Now some may say this the difference between Williams and Stern for me, and that's probably true. For me it is pretty well true across the board with any of the new Sterns. I just don't see them as being as collectible.
