I called (sort of looking for an EK) and this guy's clearly on goofballs.  EK for $1200, not working.  I explained about book value and he assured me I'm wrong, the backglass alone is worth $1000 US.  Don't waste your time calling.

Called about 90 minutes ago.  Guy told me the EK was "5 grand" .  I'm not kidding "5-0-0-0 dollars" !   I managed to stifle my laughter and asked him whether those pics were of the actual machine.  Said he had pics on his cell phone but they weren't very good.  He added that the Mata Hari machines were $1500 each. Pretty laughable as well.

Half hour later, the phone rings.  Must have used his call display cuz I never left my number or asked for a call back.   Low and behold, the price of the EK has dropped.  Now it's only TWO THOUSAND dollars !!!   But if I want rubbers and stuff, it'll be another $500.

This is incredible.  

I was never told the machine wasn't working.  The ad says it is.

Yeah, good luck guys...you're gonna need it.

Guys like that are actually good for us in a way. It makes us realize how lucky we are that we are able to buy machines among the fellow collectors without being gouged.

On the other hand it is terrible for the people who actually hand over their money.

I want to make the guy a lowball just to rile him.  Say, both MH's for $800. and I will take the EK off his hands for say, another $200. C-A-S-H! (cash must be said real long and emphasized).
