I have this old slot machine and would like to find out how much it's worth. I'm new to this forum and could use some help.

Interesting find... Although it appears it will need quite a bit of work... Is it complete ?

I am definitely not an expert on antique slot machines. Can't help with current price, sorry.
I think there are specialized slot machines price guides out there.
Perhaps you can also send an email w/pics to the editor of GameRoom Magazine.
Or place it on eBay with a high reserve (to not sell it), but get an idea of price it may fetch.

Do you have the slot's brand (Watling ?  or Mills ?).
Richard Bueschel's 'Collector's Guide to Vintage Coin Machines' book (with Price Guide)
has a section on antique slots, and a few pictures are showing similar vintage models,
so perhaps this can help a bit with the approx. year of your machine.
- 1900 Mills Brownie
- 1909 Watling Exchange
- 1909 Watling The Jefferson

The above three machines are listed in that book (printed in 1995) as $3000 restored/working,
50% of that value in 'as-found/unrestored' condition, and 25% of the price for basket-case.
These prices may not longer be in-line with current 2008 prices.

Too bad Richard is no longer with us, as he was THE real expert historian on these slots
and trade stimulator machines (and even old pinball machines!)...

Good luck !

Cheers,
- Sylvain.

Looking for 1966 Bally Capersville, 1967 Bally The Wiggler, 1981 Stern Viper, 1986 Pinstar Gamatron,
1986 Williams Grand Lizard, 1991 Williams Bride of Pinbot, and a few others.
Cash or some trades available. Could also repair a machine of yours +/-$ if needed, in exchange for
one machine on my want list, non-working/unshopped welcome!
